As in, Superman being an agent of the Government sent to stop the Batman. He could spend his time in doubt over his decision to work for them, hold back because it's not a fight he genuinely wants and instead of SAVE MARTHA Superman and Batman could come to reason about what Superman should stand for as a Superhero and become buddies.
