He saved Hal Jordan, set the foundation for Rebirth and wrote a damn good Aquaman. He is more than okay in my book.

Geoff Johns' writing skills are okay. Nobody can really question his ability to string a coherent story together. He really needs to work on his higher level storytelling. He really needs to get a bit more /lit/ if he wants to be great.

Rebirth is so far great, but he's the reason we need it thanks to him being responsible for Infinite Criris and the New 52 darkening the DC universe. He sucks at ensembles, Batman and Wonderman. Then again, he's great with Flash, Hal and Aquaman.

The definition of mixed bag. In some ways he's DC's Bendis until Bendis lost his mind. Yes, I know they've written for both publishers, but the lionshare of their work is from one.

I'd say he's good with ensembles as his JSA and LoSH work have shown. TT was fine outside of the context of them being changed from YJ.

I think JL was just a bad fit for him. He plays off continuity too much to be given a book where he's meant to establish it all again. And the promotion has really hurt his comics output in general, only about half of it since then has been good.

Needs someone to prevent him for making countless teasers he'll never follow up on. Also his almost nothing happens till the big last page reveal gets tiring after some time. That said he's written mostly good stuff with some stinkers like most writers.

I think this is where being the guy steering Rebirth can help because those teases do tend to be quite interesting and now he can delegate to have someone else write them instead of us having to hope he picks it up himself.

Of course delegation doesn't always work with his ideas (see: New Krypton), but it's worth a shot.
