While a lot of toxic masculinity is completely contextual, he's not showing any indication of it. If anything Ruth is completely wrong about how Clint treats Howie, as Howie acts like someone who doesn't get enough attention, discipline, or really much of any parenting at all. If Howie isn't retarded or have some other kind of mental condition then the reasonable explanation would be that Clint more or less ignores his developmental needs. If Willis weren't afraid to have a complex villain it'd be perfect for what we've seen of Clint. Have him so obsessed with "fixing the mistakes" he made with his daughter that he's overbearing and controlling of Ruth while Howie gets no attention at all.

This is some bullshit. He tried with Dana the first strip and then stopped because it looked like garbage. And that character was an emotional wreck, so where was the needed emotion of the second eye?

Also this doesn't excuse the covered eye not being improperly positioned most of the time.
