Could we discuss the Canadian version of Toonami and why it went to shit?

Yo your dates are wrong

1988-1991 was the early ages
*1999-2006 is the silver age
*2006-present is the dark ages

The late 2000s saw a number of Canadian TV channels go down the shitter because of a tv market that was slowly becoming homogenized.
Basically, media networks like CHUM were being bought out and absorbed by larger companies like Shaw, who instituted a number of creative changes to the way that certain channels would operate. In YTVs case, it meant abandoning the "appeal to all demographics/light stuff in the morning dark stuff after 9" angle they had since their inception in favor of replicating the Kid-com atmosphere of Disney Channel while hauling in more american programming from CN and Nick while putting in the bare minimum for Canadian content (the late 2000s recession fucked a lot of things over, and one of those things was faith in investing in original content).
This same shift in creative control led to other channels being put through the ringer, like Showcase dropping their awesome "Fridays Without Borders" block to become some lame ass Bravo! wannabe and Comedy Network losing all of their animation rights (Simpsons, South Park) to Much because of changing content regulations, and Much itself becoming a personality deprived zombie made irrelevant in the age of social media.

Remember the days when Showcase frequently showed what should have been softcore porn? Those were the days
>>
>>91012511
what the fuck is this? some kind of network that runs just random shows from a bunch of different networks on the same channels?
>>

And that's is why YTV at it's peak was the greatest fucking kids channel ever.
