She died at the end of show because it was the only way to cut Rapunzel's hair since she was the last of the Gothel bloodline and had traces of the flower's poewr in her from Gothel using it so much which meant that when Rapunzel touched the rock she was actually touching Gothel and the flower associated with her anger of when the flower was stolen which is why the hair has defensive powers now and why she dreams of both the rock and Gothel

Rapunzel very likely met Cass right after the movie ended, which would be a couple of days or maybe at most I'd say about a week after she first met Eugene. Looking at it that way, they've probably spent just about as much time together building a friendship as she and Eugene have, so it makes sense they can be this close. In universe, that is.

However, I still gotta say that as a viewer, I don't like it. We in the audience are still very new to Cassandra as a character, and all of the building of her and Rapunzel's relationship has happened offscreen, so it's understandable why it feels weird to see them being so close. Especially in comparison to the girls' relationship to EugenexPunzie, when we have a whole movie building the relationship between Rapunzel and Eugene.

So again, I can work out a way to accept because it works well enough in-universe, but it feels like a bad introduction from an audience perspective. And I don't think there's anything like a flashback scene in a future episode that would help with that very much.

Whether or not they had any interaction aside from that depends on how often Eugene tried to steal shit in the kingdom of Corona that the captain was responsible for. Personally, what with her dad basically being a cop, I think Cassandra is pretty justified in not trusting any former thieves even barring any personal relation.

Cassandra is a manipulative and overpowering personality. She's constantly trying to gain Rapunzel's trust, while discrediting the person closest to her. This is part of normal social behavior, but with a light nudge this can become isolation, and that was one of the central themes of Tangled. The constant near-misandry against Eugene will need to be explained.

That said, Gothel was one Disney villain whom I thought deserved a little sympathy, and if Disney wanted to redeem her, Cassandra will likely play a role in that.

Probably not all that much longer. Cassandra probably got assigned as Rapunzel's lady-in-waiting within days of the end of the movie. And it's totally in character that Rapunzel would befriend Cassandra very quickly. Look at how quickly she and Eugene became so close.

The fact remains, Cassandra doesn't dislike and distrust Eugene because he's a man. She dislikes and distrusts him because he's Flynn Ryder, the thief who caused so many problems for her father. She's not willing to just give him the benefit of the doubt because he's gotten a royal pardon and gone straight, which is perfectly understandable.

And Cassandra hasn't been particularly unreasonable about it. She didn't have an issue fighting alongside him against a common enemy, for example.

I didn't notice the lanterns in her room before. That's a cute detail.

It's a start but there's too little to go on yet to make a proper verdict, honestly.
Anyone hoping the season finale gets a bit maturer? Like the film was at parts. As a film, Tangled deals with some pretty heavy stuff like kidnapping, extreme emotional manipulation... hell, there's even a proper stabbing and blood too.
I hope this series gets real dramatic moments like that, to keep things tense. Light fluff is nice and fun but it's doubly worth it when there's stakes at risk.
