The King & Queen of Mewni and Mr & Mrs Diaz are regular occuring characters who move around a lot, and thus require a lot more drawings, so simpler character designs without too many extraneous details or patterns are better.

Too soon. Jackie and Marco got no reason to break up and they'd have to awkwardly contrive something for it to happen quick enough for Starco to happen in season 3. They have 2 seasons to work with for sure, and if they don't get confirmation for a 5th before they start season 4 they might start planning for end game and resolving the starco plotline then, for good or bad.
