I'm really digging all the musical animatics we've been getting for the past few months, it's neat watching how different artists interpret the scenes, how they sexualize or romanticize the characters, how well they convey the scene through facial or body language, or using inventive animation to reveal more about the story or characters that isn't possible in a stage production.

I feel this one was one of FAs misses in terms of thematic showing. The whole point of 'freeze your brain's is that JD does his best to not feel anything. He's not supposed to be breaking down crying in front of Veronica. That what happens in the start of 'our love is god'. He actually starts to feel and cry again.

Personally I think MissyAsylum has the best animatics, not only do they have a great flow to them (thus feeling like actual anamatics instead of sketch slideshows) but she realizes that with animation you have a lot of freedom to make the visuals a little more wild and not just stay grounded in complete reality, like Meant to be Yours where JD's hands and the background catch on fire and smoke starts engulfing Veronica from under the door crack, that shit was great.

Missy loves her soul magic shiny bullshit and it comes out wonderfully. I was so hype when so got to seventeen because I knew she'd make it beautiful. Shes also the only one who does a good job showing motion, especially with JD.

This was a problem for me as well. I know it's just a comedy, but I was still like "why should I give a fuck about Veronica's problems when she's killing people so nonchalantly?". I know that JD was tricking her, but she didn't go to the police, didn't call an ambulance, and she was gullible enough to buy the lie about the bullets.

I'm not saying it's terrible, just that I didn't care about the characters and that soured the movie for me some.
