Nah, it's pretty obvious that the old stuff is more-or-less canon. Death of Superman is canon, Imperiex War is canon, Secret Origin is heavily implied to be canon.

We'll probably see some New 52 stuff sprinkled in (tomboy Lana, Ulysses), but my guess is it's going to mostly hew towards pre-Flashpoint continuity.

I think every change made to Superman in the New 52 reboot was for the worse, but there definitely were quality Superman comics released during New 52: The Geoff Johns run, the Grant Morrison run, and Scott Snyder run.

The problem is, that's about 35 issues of quality content over a span of five and a half years. By and large, Superman fucking sucked during New 52, and no amount of "superbro" posting and out-of-context panels of Superman playing with children is going to change that.

I really like superdad and the addition of Jon was great, but the multiverse arc and reborn event was such a mess and I feel Tomasi and Jurgen created more problems than actually solve them.

The upcoming issues don't seem promising either.

Generally speaking, it doesn't. He got his build working on a farm from a young age, playing football in high school, and similar workouts. It helps that he's like 6'3" and has good genes anyway, but he earned the majority of how he looks the hard way.

His powers just mean he gets to maintain that without needing to put effort in because his body is hyper-efficient when powered by the sun.

In the Flashpoint universe where he was locked up away from the sun and malnourished his entire life, he was extremely skinny. Once his powers kicked in he gained the regular Kryptonian strength, but he didn't magically get the Superman-build.

Apparently there were two timelines (somehow) after 'Flashpoint' but we only saw the one Superbro (post-Flashpoint Superman) was in.

Shorter while ago, Superbro died due to a bunch of coincidental circumstances. Superdad took his place as Superman.

Now, due to Mxyzptlk kicking up a stink for being ignored for a while, Superdad apparently merged with the essence of Superbro, and now they are being played off as a new version of Superman Red and Superman Blue.

Yes, it invalidates Flashpoint and Convergeance, though both events remain part of the Multiverse Canon privy to us of Earth-33.

The two timelines are the "familiar" Pre-Flashpoint timeline, and the "new" nu52 timeline. Both have been fused and refolded into a new continuity, with elements of both intact.

What was fixed:
Superman has his secret identity as Clark Kent back.
His marriage to Lois Lane is now a part of the reality.

What is new:
John being born there, as opposed to Telos.

What is debatable:
The sequence of events with the combination of Superbro and Superdad's timelines.

Clark just got to Metropolis, he decides to put his powers to good use. He knows his past, hasn't gotten around to REALLY learn about his past so he just uses a t-shirt with the family emblem and jeans.

His first suit made by his parents, designed by combining his dads childhood heros and the holograms of Clarks parents from the spaceship. His favorite suit if not a little hokey.
>Kryptonian Armor
He got them after he'd begun to really study his past, built his fortress and was given the armor from the AI that ran his fortress.
>Blue Boots
Wanted a less militaristic and battle suit and more friendly, approachable and down to earth look so he put the armor away and recreated Kryptonian fabric to make a modern yet classic look.

Decided the new look was a little too drastic in change so he added the red boots, yellow buckle and ditched the cuffs.

That's my current headcanon on what happened in continuity, but not what Clark, his family or probably certain other people know until it's stated exactly how the new continuity works.
