I think it's a logical progression for his character considering how much of a chump he becomes. You start your life on a high note, get fucked up by a Jedi scrub once, and every major step you take to reclaiming your past glory is met with pitfalls you mostly dug yourself. His "why why why" tendencies later in life are a testament to his loneliness and suffering.

Perhaps the most interesting page, though it's another oversized spread. The poem Maul was reciting in TCW makes a return, and we see some more ancient crossguard lightsabers. Interestingly, the Sith here have regularly colored lightsabers, so the red lightsaber thing might be a relatively recent phenomenon. Can't say for sure though, given the maybe!Revan in Obi-Wan and Anakin was described as having a red blade

Maul isn't a chatterbox in TCW. I hate this stupid complaint.

Maul talks when he needs to. In TCW, he needed to more often, because he was communicating with his brother, ruling a government, and seeking a personal vengeance on Kenobi. He was also driven semi-insane.

TCW Maul was fantastic, and this comic is clearly drawing inspiration from TPM, TCW, and Rebels Maul. After all, they're the same character, just at different points of Mauls life.

Beleive it or not, TPM actually has very few plotholes, and none as blatant as the biggest one in ANH (available upon request, as it's not the post of this post), but

Is technically a plothole because what we see before that is Obi-Wan telling the queen that "it's a trick, send no reply", and Qui-Gon saying that it sound like "bait to establish a connection trace".

So unless simply RECEIVING the transmission was enough for the trace, we got ourselves a plothole.
