I guess I should have said Walt was the mayor, but that doesn't change that Walt knows a lot of people in Endtown and could probably recognize their voice. I imagine the "helium effect" changes depending on what size you are so Walt could have an easier time figuring out who it is along with their voice inflections.

Something just occured to me; the pigs must be doing 'something' that the callers are using as blackmail against them. If they were just being threatened, they'd have gone to the cops, but they're all keeping quiet.

I can buy Walt having had a thing for Portia, I just wish their relationship was made clearer, especially given how new to us Portia was.

I'm still waiting to see if Dottie has anything to say about any of this. After all, she might feel differently for Walt regardless of what Walt said.

They were set up as strangers that met and fell in love during something crazy, it was easy enough to believe. I wonder what made Aaron think otherwise.

That's what I mean. Even one or two throwaway strips with Walt escorting Portia to the police department or to her home after her initial attack, or even visiting her after dropping the wolves off at the PD, could have at least led into a few bits of information about their past.

Portia is obviously being set up as a major player in this story arc, so Aaron probably needed a reason to keep her around. He also probably felt the same about Walt's role in this current story. Better to just hook the two up than to figure out something more contrived.

Also, it was already established that Walt has a strong sense of justice and responsibility so he doesn't need reasons to help, just motivation (which was Dottie's role). I think that him being interested in Portia romantically before helping her cheapens his character.

Oh, I agree with that. But I'm still in the department of at least expanding Portia's place in the community somehow. Give us even one throwaway strip to say outright that she's been here all along, even if she just hid out during all the big events.
