>>90903280
Nope!
>>90903291
You need to talk about it? I'm here for you man
>>90903314
It's alright, thank you.
So, did he earn your respect?
>>90903400
Well if you need to talk man feel free to reach out to me. I can leave my discord or skype if you want,
>>90903568
The only chance any of these characters have of coming back is Tasky's daughter.
What's the last thing you ran? I see you are starting earlier tonight
>>90903805
I did The Judas Contract a while ago. I've been covering late nights at the news station for people going on vacay
>>90903336
I love her introduction.
Jenny needs a hug.
Thanks for the storytime, Dan Dashly!
>>90904053
>>90903359
Get it, Vance.
>>90903314
Ignore him. Also, this is great
>>90904845
I regularly bought this book. Surprised it went on for as long as it did. Every new issue we wondered whether it was the last one but it persisted and Marvel repaid that loyalty with killing them off/throwing them to limbo.
I mean it was obvious they were gonna be replaced by the next young avengers crowd but it still stings a little man. Like Marvel wasted literally no time with doing away with the characters.
And casuals wonder why people hate the current crops of young heroes. Not only are they badly done but they will be murdered or forgotten like the guys that came before.
Anyways thanks for the storytime anon.
>>90903314
>Lusting for JUSTICE
Good taste, little girl.
>>90904930
>they will be murdered or forgotten like the guys that came before
I can't wait till Moon Girl gets fed to her own dinosaur for shock value.
>>90903680
Dude, they all gone.
>>90905119
I hightly agree. Vance is a hadsome and nice guy.
>>90904930
This dude. It was the first time i was ever really pissed after reading a comic
>>90905303
Maybe the beatings had somthing to do with it hank
>>90904930
>I regularly bought this book. Surprised it went on for as long as it did. Every new issue we wondered whether it was the last one but it persisted and Marvel repaid that loyalty with killing them off/throwing them to limbo.
Yeah, Marvel's truly mastered the "Junior X-Men" model of disposable generations of teen heroes at this point.
>>90903615
>>90903654
>tfw you want to ship Electro/Lizard but the stupid series shoots it down on every other page
>>90905193
Taskmaster will always be popular, there is always a chance she can come back because she is linked to an old, popular character.
>>90905818
Hazmat is amazing.
>>90905676
Dude, they never went fucking anywhere with her or their connection.
Nobody cares about these characters.
>>90905892
>tfw Hazmat will never kick me around and order me to say i'm sorry
Thanks for reading guys! More AA tomorrow!
>>90905991
Thanks for the storytime!
>>90905963
>>90905977
>>90905991
Never understood this definition of heroism at all.
>>90903084
Late question but did you ever finish the Sentinel storytime? I was really getting into it.
>>90905965
They established the link. That was enough
bump
>>90906531
It was just the one storytime.
Pretty sure OP is only posting the first collection of each series and moving onto the next teen heroes.
>>90905965
They showed Tasky meeting his daughter but also set up the sad fact that he'll always forget her.
Never say never. They could relive this storyline or she could never be used again. Who knows.
>>90903568
This was the first Marvel series I properly got into. It had become clear to me that DC had shit the bed with New52 and I decided to finally start exploring the other companies.
Christ, I miss it.
>>90903388
>I'm Humberto Lopez. Reptil. Avenger of tomorrow.
Not anymore!
>>90906633
>>90909133
Dude, they're never going to do shit with the Avengers Academy cast.
I've accepted this truth long ago.
They fucking ruined these characters, and then dropped them into limbo as they are known to do.
>>90910406
Anon characters get revived all the time. Just takes the right writer.
>>90903359
How do people who force promises like this not feel like huge assholes?
>>90910406
The potential is there, anon.
Nobody is saying it's likely but it's still possible that a new writer will use hereven if it takes several decades.
>>90905016
This is my first time reading this and Mettle is really growing on me, too bad he gets "nothing personnel"'d
Morning bump, I miss these kids. Really hate how a good portion of Marvel's youth heroes got vacuumed up by the O5.
>>90904930
Amen, Anon. Amen.
>>90903084
How well did this series sell when it was first released anyway?
>>90905699
I love this moment.
>>90905932
Damn right she is.
>>90905973
>Dominatrix Hazmat
I had no idea I wanted this.
>>90913137
It started at 40K, but it slowly went down. It hovered above 20K for YEARS though. It lasted 42 Issues (39 + a Giant Size, & .1 Special).
For a young hero team made past 2000 with no legacy/retro characters on the core team? Only New X-Men: Academy X managed that!
And keeping the same writer through it? Also SUPER rare. Almost unheard of.
So it didn't do the best, but it maintained itself better than anything else like it.
>>90913399
>40k
>stayed at the 20k/cancelation level
>never reached the 100k marker that Marvel always loves
This series was doomed from the start
>>90913399
>>90913477
Wait, just double checked. It started at 47K.
Like that makes a difference.
And it was a followup to Avengers: the Initiative to boot.
>>90905427
It is frustrating that casuals don't notice this pattern. Like look faggot you already know there were teen heroes that got pushed before the current ones. Do you really think your favorites are gonna be the exception?
Also I swear I read some Bendis interview where he said the reason he didn't reuse old teen x-characters was because he respected the creators too much to radically change them. That's why he created new ones for Uncanny. Which is a load of bullshit. Writers create new x-characters for that sweet sweet IP money. Just look at Bendis with Jessica Jones.
Comic books are practically fucking fan fic at this point as writers create new characters from something they made up when they were 8.
>>90903485
Thanks for storytiming this awesome series.
>>90904443
Oh Ghost I love you.
>>90912754
>all sorts of new and interesting concepts and personalities that have been developed over the years
>nah let's just reuse the X-Men again
I hate the O5 so much.
>>90904257
How common is the "powers manifest while making out" scenario?
Man I really liked this book and the team. I can't believe none of them broke out into being minor characters.
