itt: cartoons forgotten by time
Roughly 99% of cartoons produced in the 70's.
Brandy and Mr. Whiskers... I liked it.
>>90873053
I remember it, and honestly it was pretty meh, I'm not one of the ones who absolutely abhors it because of the live action concept, but in the end, it was a pretty crappy sitcom with cartoons overlayed into it.
There was also that point where they inserted a laughtrack into it... and then it died. I'm pretty fucking glad that the fucker who played Jimmy is no longer on Cartoon Network anymore, he was a god damn asshole and turned Fridays into Fried Dynamite. Actually, now that I think about it, I hate this fuck. Fuck you Jimmy.
>>90873053
I wish I could forget this fucking turd
I remember when this was on Nick for about a couple months and I liked it quite a bit, and then it was taken off and never heard spoken of again.
Looking back, it was nothing too special.
>>90873494
Just realized the image is in another language, the show is "My dad the rockstar"
>>90873494
I wish my willy was a rock star.
I don't remember the name of this show but it was about this girl and a hamster in a spaceship? I saw it mentioned on /co/ before but I forgot what it was called
>>90874816
Bounty hamster I think it is
>>90873494
This brings me back.
Also, does anybody remember a show called jacob two-two? it was a kid that repeated words twice, I think.
I remember it because it aired in cartoon network the same mornings when my dad's a rockstar and osmosis jones used to air. In my country at least.
>>90875135
I remember the name but never actually watched it
>>90875135
I remember that. It was some dumb educational show, you were supposed to learn a word every episode i think, but it also had a normal plot. My little brother liked it
>>90873053
I can't believe that shit was 2006.
Did we ever find out why Phil's past was full of Satanic imagery?
>>90875339
I rewatched this show a couple years back, and it still holds up.
Does anyone remember a similar show? It was a cartoon abut 6 friends who lived in a lot. Each episode would have one of them deal with a problem, and the other 5 would give them advice and then we'd get music videos or something.
ABC Family once had this bad Family Guy clone called Slacker Cats. The pink cat was the only good character and the rest of the show was just mediocre and confused about what audience it wanted. Sad thing is, I'd take it over any episode of modern Family Guy, desu.
>>90875470
This looks like some one dumped a sunday comic into a TV show
>>90875977
Oh great, a Pepe TV show.
>>90875470
Dobson?
Only three years old
>>90875470
Oh fuck I remember that.
Does anyone remember a TV show with a blue elephant his name was like Bush or something. One episode they were singing about kittens and puppies. Or am I imagining things?
>>90875135
>jacob two-two
It still plays on Qubo here in the US
MTV had a block called Sic'emation where the only good things they played were reruns of Beavis and Butthead and Celebrity Deathmatch.
Then, they had original stuff like The Adventures of Chico and Guapo, and Where My Dogs At, which were absolutely godawful.
this might be TOO forgotten
>>90878970
What ever happened to that show?
>>90873494
Threadly reminder that Nick Simmons, the guy that the glasses kid is based on, plagiarized Bleach.
I have never heard anyone mention this show
>>90878914
Qubo is still a thing?
>>90879060
It wasn't bad, it was just average as fuck
>>90872144
What the hell happened to Skyland?
>>90875634
Actually it's from 2007
>>90878647
I was about to say that this looks just like the Gregory Horror show, but then I noticed that it's by the same woman

Good riddance, it looks ugly as all fuck
only brazilians will remember but fuck, this was nice.

If you remember this, your childhood wasnot that great
>>90879462
that is a sweet intro song
>>90879918
I first learned the counting trick for thunder and lightning from Mcgee and Me. I don't remember it being particularly awful.
>>90879918
I remember this and other shit, but I still had a pretty good childhood because shit like this was a reason to get outside often.
>>90880088
>>90880109
The show itself wasn't that awful, but if you ended up watching it there wasn't anything else to do
https://youtu.be/DQTFgzoIiG0
>didn't have cable tv
>free tv started airing this cartoon
>got super excited over the concept and this cool intro
>two days later it was gone
Can't even remember if it was good at all
https://youtu.be/PSaR_TqEKr0
there were a lot of mediocre disney cartoons now that i think about it
>>90879002
It's biggest mistake is that it came out during the last year of Bush' presidency.
>>90880202
Also for some reason all google images gives me about this show is this collection of pictures of mind control from a wiki that catalogs mind control episodes
wtf internet
>>90880291
I remember getting a promotional VHS of this show in the mail. No idea what prompted it, but I remember being unimpressed. The one part I remember is the theme song. That "ROBOTS FOR EVERYONE" line is stuck in my head forever.
Santo Bugito
>>90875802
Delta State. Interesting idea for the show, though it was unfortunately comprised mostly of filler episodes and a lot of them had trouble filling up the run time with stuff to keep the viewer engaged and at times the conflict between the roommates felt forced. I also wish the villains had a motive beyond "We're just evil it's what we do." Also, you can tell they really had no budget for the action scenes at all, as they were pretty much on the level of that scene from South Park where Cartman has the psychic duel with the other psychic detectives.
>>90876115
>D'you remember how you told me that if I held my breath for more than an hour that the hen from the front of the cereal box would come alive and lay a magic egg for me? I've been trying REALLY hard but I keep on passing out.
>>90879060
I really liked the bond between Mondo and his mom in this show a lot. It was really neat to see a mother and son shown to be more like friends that hang out. However, it relied too much on crass and vulgar humor which really didn't fit with the heartfelt tone of the moral dilemmas the characters faced.
>>90880291
Oh man, I remember this. I can't remember if I kinda liked it or if I hated it, though
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0k6Xwg_lhuQ
>>90880323
I got that same promotional tape. Also wasn't impressed and don't even remember seeing the show on TV at all. I thought it was more cool just that you could get promo tapes in the mail.
>>90880291
>ywn own a magnetic Cubix figure
Remember when they tried to make the Looney Toons into Ninja Turtles for like a month?
>>90880392
yes, it was dumb
>>90880392
I didn't until you reminded me, and I was really enjoying life up until now.
Everyone's forgotten about the shows that only ran on Nicktoons Network. Kaput and Zosky, Corneil and Bernie, Kappa Mikey, Yakkity Yak, etc.
>>90880447
I recognize it but can't remember a single episode
>>90880481
This had so much potential.
>>90880479
>>90878796
Isn't that the network that plays uncensored movies?
>>90880481
wait shit wasn't this good?
>>90880529
This was another Nicktoons only cartoon
>>90880523
In retrospect, I probably should have said "it had potential."
It's funny as fuck while high.
>>90880592
All I know about IFC is that Idiocracy plays like once a week.
>>90880392
I didn't mind it
>>90880542
I liked how it was the first typical CGI series to actually look and move like a cartoon to a significant degree. Whether it's good, I don't know. I was always really indifferent towards it, but I recall /co/ having a hate boner for it back when it was running.
>>90880606
I fucked up. Meant to quote the post below that one.
>>90880548
Oh hey, my friend is in a storyboarding class being taught by the woman that voiced the mean girl in that. He said that's really her accent.
>>90880238
It seems to remembered for different reasons.
>>90880323
I got a promotional video for Yu-gi-oh.
>>90880392
The only good thing that Loonatics gave us was that "A New Bunny" flash cartoon.
>>90880447
That show was unironically good. Kinda reminded me of early Spongebob in a way, but the characters actually had a little more depth and consistency.
i don't remember if it was good or bad it just exists
>>90876115
It looks like Seth's characters in cat form.
>>90879007
They changed the voice of the main character.
>>90880753What's going to take, to get you kids into my van?
>>90880548
You know I only caught this a few mornings but I absolutely loved it.
>>90880845
I did not know this even existed.
>>90881068
And once you seen it, you'll wish it didn't.
>>90881108
I see. Reminds me of how there was a Bubsy pilot I never knew existed. Was there more than 4 episodes? Or is that DVD the sum-total of it's existence?
>>90880447
What a good series. Fucking newts were the best.
The Irish cat was a pedophile.
surely everyone remembers this completely original, totally underrated gem
I'm not even sure if it can be considered a cartoon
>>90880888
Props to amy poheler for letting nick maker her show for a bit
>>90881744
Was actually good, but was probably made due to incredibles blowing up
>>90881762

>>90875653
Ah, Heloise...
Here's mine. I don't remember a damn thing about it other than I liked it.

>>90881848
I learned recently that the dialogue/gags was ripped from Blackadder.
>>90881912
I should probably see Blackadder like I've been meaning to first...
>>90881881
Wasn't the main character a little like Jack Sparrow?
this
>>90882113
Was it good?
>>90880481
ah man, i don't care i loved this show, i think it's because it's on of the few shows where i actually really liked all of the main characters
>>90882168
Sure, well personally, i loved it
>>90882350
I remember always avoiding it, because it looked gay weeb shit. But, there was still this curiosity. I just didn't know what channel it aired on and never picked up any DVDs.
>>90875728
Their backup cartoon when Saban moon fell through
>>90880531
And Portlandia
But yeah, they show their content uncensored, which is nice
>>90882384
Ah, i felt the same way at first since i never liked that weeb style you're referring to but it just kinda grew on me after watching it for a little while, it also aired on jetix which i guess is now known as disney xd, good times man..
>>90872144
>>90880585
I really liked the opening
I'm mixed about watching it since I feel it might not have held up well
Trolls has tried to appeal to a modern audience before the Dreamworks movie.
>>90882113
PUCCAAAA LOVES GARU
>>90881369
>The Irish cat was a pedophile.
It didn't quite register when I was watching it but yeah why did Nick have a pedophile cat as a main character? Maybe that's why the show didn't last too long.
>>90882475
I fucking miss Jetix, well Toon Disney in general. They aired Disney saturday afternoon reruns, obscure animu and french cartoons, and the Tick. Anyone remember shinzo?
>>90878923
This looks kind of Nutshack-y
>>90880727

>>90880727
i will never forget :(
>>90882838
I remember this! i don't recall the name tho
Sitting ducks was the shit.
How do you think the creators of these shows feel about getting their show on and then not having it go anywhere? Do you think they just accept it as a fact of life, or do they they always look back, see that's their high point, and then get real sad?
>>90882475
>xd
>>90880548
Reminder that the creator can never use those characters again because Nickelodeon owns them now.
>>90882786
That fucking hair, kek
>>90881762
It aired in my local CN and it was shilled by that in mid-late 2000's. Now its Wikipedia page is outdated in that regard.

>>90885190

>>90880291
What freaked me out is I knew a guy with autism named Connor that looked pretty much exactly like the MC, like it was based on him or something.
>>90881369
>>90882902
Please elaborate.
>>90885343
What was with Andy?
>>90878796
IFC will fade back into nothingness once Portlandia ends anyway much like how it did when Whitest Kids U Know got canned
>>90886036
Stage fright
>>90875728
I liked this show.
>>90880542
It was mediocre. Basically one or two good eps, and the rest were the same shitty jokes and gags all the time. All the characters were shallow, and most were annoying.
Still a huge step up compared to most other Canadian kid shows, though.
>>90885192
I loved it as a kid, but was it actually good?
>>90880291
Scary thing is, it was still getting shown on TV in 2015. The show was ugly then and even worse now.
>>90883193
Exactly
>>90881716
Ugh, in my country they hired some terrible unknown voice actors to dub this cartoon. I liked 6teen and I tried watching an episode of this, but it was unbearable

The LatAm name was a lot more memorable
>>90887562
Las Locuras de Andy sounds pretty generic i m o, it's not bad tho
>>90886767
Yeah it was a rare occasion where the comedy outshined the terrible animation.
>>90887606
I didn't say it was good, just a lot better than "What's with Andy?"
>>90873494
the absolute saddest part of this trainwreck of boredom is that it's inspired by a hilarious story- when Gene Simmons' son was in kindergarten the class was given an assignment to draw a picture of what their parents did for work. Nick Simmons turned in a picture of Gene Simmons drooling blood and breathing fire.

>>90887818
I tried watching this after one of these threads and it was like 50% stock footage, and the dancing segment in each episode takes up like 20% of the viewtime
They used to replay this every so often so idk if it's really forgotten
>>90887891
You think so?
>>90887797
I remember the theme song but nothing from the show
>>90887908
He has to do that at least once per episode, right? The theme song is pretty cool tho
>>90887797
>>90887654
So it has the Reboot factor working for it.
>>90887797
I loved this show as a kid, since I was a lot like Ian. But the show just kind of petered now, didn't it? Like it had new seasons, but they stopped advertising them. The new episodes were just sort of there. It's a lot like King of the Hill that way.
the zombie episode was the first one i saw and it scared me
>>90875681
I rented a vhs with like four episodes. Can't remember much about it but The Phantom costume blended in pretty cool with all the future stuff.

2/2.
>>90887967

>>90887980
Just googled it, Being Ian had 3 seasons, 63 episodes that ended in 2008. I don't know how many episodes they aired in my country, or even how long it was aired, but I don't see it being mentioned anywhere
>>90888067
Supposedly the story goes that they pitched it to disney execs but they were rejected on the grounds that that they'd just "make their own."

>>90885192
I liked Sitting Ducks a lot. Sitting Ducks and Pet Alien were the only 3D cartoons I really enjoyed.
>>90887871
I remember this aired right before Dragon Ball Z uncut which had some curse words in it but wasn't during Adult Swim. I remember thinking this show got cancelled because they thought it was okay to have curse words in it because DBZ uncut had some.
>>90880481
This was my shit back then, I remember liking every episode, it just makes me sad that I missed like three of the last ones.
I still remember my favorite moment when they showed a whole room filled with the same employee, explaining why he's everywhere.

The Disney from my country just stopped airing it at 6:00a.m. three months ago. It was a pretty good series.

>>90888661
Yeah I was sad to see it go, but I love how they worked General Scar into the main show. I found him being angry, lonely, and retired to be a pretty funny way to make fun of it no longer being around.
I forget, did the other 3 characters ever make it back into the main series for notable cameos?
>>90880447
Only thing I remember from the show was that the bottom cat really wanted to fuck the little girl character.

Anyone else remember a CGI LOTR rip off movie about a couple of gnomes/imps that stood like a few inches tall that went into a grocery store/7-11 to fight either green lizards or rats? I remember there was a redheaded adventurer gal who swung on a vine and a jack black looking midget with a pompadour who was initially an enemy but ended up working together with the main heroes for a little while for whatever reason. I remember thinking that it was too complicated for kids and too boring for adults.
Many people seem to have forgotten the first He-Man remake.
Seeing all these cartoons somehow reminds me of those shorts that Nicktoons would air either late at night or during the festival/contest they did every year. Does anyone know if they still do that or have they dropped that entirely?

I haven't. I recall my main criticism was with the action. They spent more time twirling their swords and staffs, and if I recall they never actually showed any physical contact with them. Just like in the 2002 TMNT show, they would do cuts implying they hit.
>>90892669
Yvon was like a bad canadian dream

I don't think /co/ has forgotten it but I don't know of anyone IRL that remembers it. I personally loved it.
2/2
I don't remember really anything about this show except for the theme song. The only reason I watched it was because I was in that "I'm too old for kiddy cartoons" phase and wanted to watch mature stuff.
>>90888661
i liked this more than billy and mandy too. same with underfist. billy and mandy really dragged their show down imo.

BEING A MANGA ARTIST
I remember one cartoon about some arab dude trying to take the place of the sultan.
Does anyone remember this show, it was either French or Canadian, I think it was based on a comic, with this blonde kid with this massive nose? There was nothing particularly interesting about him. His design was a lot like Rayman.
>>90888359
Oh man what the fuck I completely forgot about that. I remember one episode was entirely revolved around the fact that the guy at the bottom right corner couldn't figure out why having green thumbs would make him good at gardening... yeah I think I know why this was forgotten.

>>90890846
This was the most interesting case. FX has been trying to get into the animation game for years now, but Archer has been their only hit. Unsupervised was renewed for a second season, only for Glenn Howerton (from It's Always Sunny, who happened to have a role on the show) to state months later that the show wasn't coming back.
Then there was Chozen, which was a bad idea from the get-go. They also announced years ago that they were working on an animated series about Bigfoot living among humans with Seth Rogan, but i guess the project never materialized.
>>90899672
there was an episode where ozzy gets some kind of bacteria growing inside him and there's a scene where he's convinced he's about to have a baby before they realise what's actually happening

like Karate Kommandos, also related to the thread
Karate Kamados is still the most generic 80s thing I've ever seen

>>90904893
This had so much potential.
Great redesigns, a ready-made fantasy world with a wealth of characters to choose from, and built-in name recognition.
It even started strong.
Then it just had episode after episode of boring filler, characters acting completely out of character, characters completely forgetting the lesson of the week from last week, idiot balls galore.
But you know, it's an action cartoon. Nobody would give a shit about all the bad writing and dialogue and inconsistent worldbuilding as long as the action sequences were good. And, occasionally, they were. But, usually they either sucked or were super short. Like, how do you make an action cartoon without any action?
Maybe the main problem was simply that they were told to make too many episodes with too little money.
How are there so many cartoons?

Honestly, I totally forgot this show existed, I'd just melded the two shows together in my head, but now that you bring it up I can definitely remember it.
That being said, something about this art style is appealing, in a weird, awkward, alien way, kinda like Total Drama Island. Can't say I remember a thing about this cartoon except the fact I thought it was dumb

Do you mean this show?
>>90921244
Mel Brooks was the only good part of the show.
Not specifically A cartoon, but it was a compilation of em.
Anyone remember this? This was MY source for all my favorite Popeye, MGM, Warner Bros. etc shorts.

goddammit forgot the image.

Yes, and also the Popeye Show, the Chuck Jones show and the Tex Avery show (the good one). I wish I had been around for when they had the rights to the Walter Lantz cartoons.
