Literally. Most dogs in the series are petty thieves, servants, or jews. I mean I know we're talking about a series with one of the biggest jews as a star, but the dogs are pretty jewish too.

Maybe it's his butler name. If I had a butler I would like to call him Jeeves and not something silly and unbutlerish like Jimmy or Randy.

US myself. I've never looked into butlers much, as I don't have that kind of money, but I would think it would feel odd to have a butler that wasn't British. I mean of course there are many butlers in the states, and I'm sure I'd get used to it, but eh call it a stereotype I've never been corrected on.

As far as I know most butlers in America are either English, putting on an English accent for the sake of the profession, or use one of those upper class pseudo-British New England accents. You know how the Preppies sound in Bully? Like that.

I think that's called a transatlantic accent. They talked like that in really old american movies and radio.
