Why doesn't Batman just break the Joker's spine?

Because
>something something just as bad as him
>bla bla no different than when he paralysed Barbara
>slime in this ear, slime in that ear, won't solve the problem
Basically, any fucking excuse under the sun so he can continue dressing up in a halloween costume and not deal with the trauma of his parents deaths directly.
He would heal through the power of shitty writers.
He has a healing factor so it'd be pointless

Swamp Thing tried that with a villain once. She became the god Avatar of all machine life. Long story short, not a sure fire effective method.
The line between Paralyzed for life and Dead is a lot thinner then most fictional works would lead you to believe. There's a very good chance he would kill him by accident.

Why doesn't Batman just kill him by accident??

Bats would just dump Joker's body in a Lazarus Pit if that happened.
Take your pick:
>Killing/Disabling Joker removes an interesting character from the story
>He tries to kill/disable the Joker, but Joker keeps escaping
>Killing/disabling villains would make Batman a different character
>In "closed" stories (e.g. TDKR) he has.
>Batman not killing is like an alcoholic avoiding taking even a sip of booze; if he does it once he knows he'd never stop doing it
>Police allow Batman to operate solely as a glorified bounty hunter. If he began permanently "taking care" of criminals he'd be a criminal himself

Because he'd have one less excuse to be Batman.
Hell, if he wanted to, he could clean up Gotham of major crime in a month.

Why you only talk about batman instead of doing threads about characters you like?
