I truly do not understand.
Why were all the feather-dusters birds?
Lets try to work through this logically. Do feather dusters and birds have in common?

Okay, but it's not like any of the other objects were animal-hybrids or whatever.

BUT
It's a FEATHER duster
Do you get it?
A writer was paid a lot of money for this anon, it can't be that stupid.
They weren't real birds. They're stylized feather dusters for a fancy castle.

Feathers = birds
You = faggot

The original design was too sexy for the young audiences of today

They both shit on me.

Would people in that era really design feather dusters like that though? I'm not sure they would see much of a point in dressing up something only the servants are going to use anyway.

I don't know that there's any extant examples, but I've seen similar "everyday" items given fancy looks when they're designed to be shown off. Kind of like how Marie Antoinette had servants pour milk made at her dairy in expensive, pretty porcelain pails before pouring it into glasses for her guests, rather than having the servants be seen pouring it from plain pails.
