Its a pretty nice read. Admitingly its been a few years so I don't really remember it. Its a fun little ride though, and gives Naomi Misora some much needed storytime. Pretty nice ending if it isn't spoiled.

Ultimately, if you thought Naomi Misora was wasted potential, give it a read. Maybe find a PDF first and decide if you wanna add it to your collection.

I will admit I really like the physical book, though. I think its cool enough to keep in my collection by virtue of that alone.

>>90839679
I really liked it at the time: like LA Case, its been a few years since I've read it. Its significantly different from the anime, which I liked and was into at the time, which is what caught my attention.

Diva is a much more sympathetic and tragic villain, a certain character doesn't die and gets to be more badass, the Schiff aren't there (I guess that's a hit or miss depending on if you like them), Diva has a new Chevalier replacing Karl, and a few other minor things here and there.

If you liked Blood+, its an interesting experience. Not the greatest story in the world, but I do like manga and anime adaptions that are a different take than the original story.

[spoiler: I don't like what it did with Nathan though. He's just kind of an unlikable shit in this one. I liked the implication he was the Chevalier of Saya and Diva's mom and that's clearly not the case here. Oh well.[/spoiler]

>>
>>90850866
Economy of scale.

You have fixed costs of licensing, translation, typesetting, editing and so forth. And running costs of printing, shipping and retailer's shares.

If it costs $1K to slap together something printable, and you print 1000 copies, each copy would need a price-tag of $1 more than what the printer asks for to break even.

At 2000 copies, the price of copies only need to be increased by 50¢.

they do, that shit is so fucking solid compared to what else I used over the years it's really amazing,

Oh and on a sidenote if anyone wants to order Marvel Omnis from cheap-comics you better read the News on top about them. They're already comparatively cheap compared to all the other sellers in Europe but it can be EVEN CHEAPER if you pre-order them for when the actual sale starts.
I've seen discrepancies though, they offer stuff like Avengers Crossing Omni for 39.50 in the sale but in the current regular listing it's down to €35, so better double-check which one's cheaper.

Also I just noticed amazon (.de) started listing the new DC stuff for late 2017 like that Jack Kirby Fourth World complete omni etc

At times I want to say Bendis because his run was the first big DD run I read so it has a special place in my heart, and other times I want to say Miller just because his run is so iconic and every issue felt special; there's so many little things about his run that I love like the camera shots in panels and the fact that he was able to inject humor into the book with characters like Turk.

So I've just bought an Absolute Authority vol. 2 for 25 dollars.
As you can see, it has a slight deformation on the outer cover, and a printing mistake which I'll post next.
Do you think it would be possible to resell it at a higher price? If yes, how much, realistically?

Depends on a few factors, like if that person has the first absolute and if they view the defect as a positive or negative, negative for obvious reasons but positive given that it probably isn't common and makes the item more rare. It shouldn't be that hard to make a profit off it I think especially since it's also currently out of print.

>>
>>90855682
What's that series in your pic like?
>>
>>90866329
marketplace is different than shit you buy in the warehouses, they're constantly packing and sorting shit so damages aren't uncommon
>>
>>90865879
My last order had zero packing materials. Just loose shit in a box. Miraculously the damage was minimal but holy fuck.
>>
>>90866594
Yeah they used to be my favorite. They had a cardboard piece that matched the size of the bottom of the box, then shrink wrap the books to that, then put bubble wrap in the rest of the box. They have truly stopped giving a shit and are only doing the bare minimum. That's what happens when a company gets so big. They lose customer service.

I picked the Fantastic Four vol 1-3 Omnis (the ones without the writer in the titles which are actually by Kirby) and Annihilation Conquest.
if you like Spider-Man, pick the Roger Stern omni.
Maybe Young Avengers Omni? It's just €15. But only really if you liked that stuff.
One of the namefriends (can't remember which one it was) will probably tell you to get Werewolf by Night, but that's such a special comic I'd rather check if you even like that before blind-buying it.
Keep in mind though how that sale works with C-C. These prices are for PRE-ORDER and you won't get them until the sale actually starts, which is marked as end-of-march/beginning-of-april on their site and you have to write them by email. Cris (the owner) separately told me when I pre-ordered that my shit will only be available in 7 weeks from the point forward I ordered, which was beginning of march so it'll be somewhere mid- or end-of april for me.

>>90887305
Definitely. they're also on sale on cheap-comics if you're from Europe. (not in that Marvel bundle obviously, you'll have to separately search them, they're "spring deals").
Still kind of pissed that there is no GLC Companion type book/Omni like Marvel sometimes does with their Omnis.

>>90890325
Yeah if you're into Dark Tower then that could be pretty nifty on the other hand C-C literally throws Dark Tower HCs away for free., pic related, you can choose it in every order as free gift (or a Bendis Avengers book)

Marvel please

probably because Annihilus is considered an FF enemy and consequently falls under Fox's license.

Trashed is goodish, I also loved My Friend Dahmer, I think it was lost in the move. I've had to replace a lot of comics lately.
>>
Kinda nice they are putting all of the Astounding Wolf Man into one HC. I really enjoyed that book.

Finally came in the mail.
Just wanted to thank the Anon who showed his pic and lead me to finding out about this beauty right after it came out.

Also the designer of the cover did a nice touch with the left side being glossy and smooth and the right side feeling rough. Thought that was noteworthy.
>>
>>90917531
Fantagraphics has probably the best cover designs in comics

Can't believe I waited so long to read this, it's amazing.

Gorgeous art, consistently funny and full of great characters. Loving it.

And a mostly up to date shelf. The stuff at the bottom is now in a pile waiting to go on the main shelf (so the books and DVDs will be getting the boot). Everything is back in one house now, that photo at the bottom is the stuff I'd bought while working away for a few months.
>>
The IDW sale on IST right now is worth a look. all of Corto Maltese is 40% off. that's reason enough to look at the rest.
>>
>>90920600

The newer Atomic Robo collections are pretty great if you're into that kinda thing, theyre basically the same exact quality as the Plague of Frogs TPB's
>>
>>90919561
I'm always jealous of a shelf of a person who is organized and well planning enough to get series under the same book style.

I still kick myself for one time buying one of the Walking Dead hardbacks when I could on sale, cause all my other trades are the cheap paperbacks.
So now I gotta one day either sell the hardback and get 2 paperback trades, or sell 10+ paperbacks and spend tons going all superior hardbacks.
>>
>>90919561
How is Gotham Central anons? I keep seeing it, but haven't pulled the trigger on buying it yet.
>>
>>90922484

I really like it. It's very un-Batman, so don't go in if that's what you're after, but if you just want a great crime drama in a familiar setting you could do far worse.
>>
>>90922484
it is excellent.
>>
>>90922484
it's a decent procedural, if you like the Batman mythos it really knocks it up a lot
>>
>>90922484
I loved it, as im a big fan of police procedurals and a fan of batman. The only thing was the ending felt like a big let down.

just got these in the mail, I just wanted The Coldest City and Lost at Sea, but I got all five for like $18 on ebay.

no idea what the others are about, but they seem cool

Anyone from UK ordered from this site? Considering picking up the WW omni but I don't want to get hit by customs.
>>
So what with Iron Fist coming out and everything Im tempted to buy The Immortal Iron Fist collection. Do they have larger volumes like an omni or is this my best option?

>>
>>90924607
the omni was in print for ages, chances are they'll reprint it soon
>>
>>90924578

If its anything like here in Canada you'll get hit with the shipping charge which iirc is around 30 bucks and customs as well.

IST is a luxury for the americans, they don't realise how well they have it, lol.
>>
Damn, Im in the mood for some trades and I cant quite decide what I want to get

>Daredevil Frank Miller Omni
>Hellboy Vol 1 Library Edition
>Immortal Iron Fist Vol 1
I got cash to burn but I dont want to go overboard. What do you fellas think?

Not that annon but the omni only covers the first complete edition. Although i would be interested in know if they're both good.

Does IST do free shipping with $50 or more purchases like Amazon? Trying to get away from Amazon given their shipping methods
>>

yup
>>
>>90925177
Ye IST does free ship in the US for if you spend 50 bucks. You also get 2% off on all stuff for 8 days.

Will probably be the same for me then, sucks the sale is so damn good on there right now.
>>
>>90924578
German here, they delivered home without customs, but the shipping fee was very high so I guess they calculated customs fees into it already. package was properly declared by IST for customs to wave it through.
Expect it to take about a month though.

>>90925177
only US though
>>
>>90925559
Alright thanks, It will probably be cheaper for me to just order it from here if that's the case.
>>
>>90926066
yeah, probably better ordering from this side of the pond. take a look at cheap-comics if you plan to order bulk. shipping to UK is a flat EUR 14.95, but it may still end up cheaper than anywhere else if you pick the right stuff.
>>
>>90928219
I'll take a look, thanks.

So I was really hoping Sunstone HC Vol 1 and East of West HC Vol 2 got released this week but Sunstone got delayed until next week. Should I just get the East of West HC and something else or wait till next week and buy the two HCs I want together.

I know a while back there was at least one anon who was saying I was lucky to have my Tomb of Dracula omnis since it was the only way to get the complete series. Well, here's looking at you, anon. Amazon's currently got pre-orders for first volume Complete Collections of both Tomb Of Dracula and Werewolf By Night.
>>
>>90936071
Oh, damn. Something called Marvel Horror: The Magazine Collection will also be coming out in late October and it appears to collect stuff not included in the Vampire Tales v1-3 and Essential Tales Of The Zombie trades.
>>
>>90936071
The omnis are still fantastic for Colan's art. I just saw the last 2 Essential volumes I need for ToD on eBay, but I don't use it anymore because fuck Paypal. Glad to see them trying again with a colored release. Hope they make it to the end this time, I'd like a full set finally.

No which sucks cause I think it was issue 6 that had the awesome scene with Oneeye mad, which would have been the best cliffhanger for a first trade to end on.

I cut Teen Titans, Batgirl, Deathstroke and Curse Words from my standing order last week to save some cash, then pulled them off the shelves anyway.

Then I let the staff up sell me on Rumble based on the other stuff I was buying because Image TPBs are cheap.

I am so bad at money, but this store is so much nicer than the one I used to go to it's hard not to blow some cash there. Even had them order me in Giant Days vol 4 rather than grabbing it online.
>>
>>90947850
surprised you kept buying Batgirl that long

>Reborn
Millar gets a lot of heat for his older stuff and for the fact that he wants to make money out of his comics, but I think he's written some really great stuff in under his Millarworld umbrella, Reborn, Empress, Starlight and Superior are some of the best comics in recent years.

I loved the second New 52 run, and thought the first arc of Rebirth was fine, albeit a significant step down. Even if I dropped it now I'd still read it, just probably wait for the trades.

Patience pays off. 10 bucks on Thriftbooks when there's an eBay auction up to 80 something right now. A couple nicks hidden by the dust jacket, which is included and which was my biggest worry. It said ex-library, but there are no stamps or anything, and no card sleeve attached to the inside cover.

Any tips to get that spine sticker off with as little damage as possible?
>>
>>90948606
it's worth it for the art alone. Cooke's art is so simple but so fucking amazing.

>>90949291
they tag almost all their books as "ex-library"
