I like a lot of this comic, but I don't like this.
It doesn't feel right.
Elric sustained himself with potions not souls at least, before Stormbringer..
And certainly not the souls of helpless slaves.
Not to say that he felt anything for the slaves around him. They were just chattel as far as he was concerned.
But this feels wrong for his character.

I'm not a huge fan of that but i get why and it fits this interpretation where one of the intents is to show just how cruel Melnibone'ans could be.
It also serves a dual purpose to give Cymoril more of an active role in the plot.

I think what they're gonna do is that as Elric is more exposed to the outside world, that conscience he buried underneath his Melnibone'an upbringing will surface as he starts making friends with the likes of Smiorgan, Rakhir, Yishana and especially Moonglum.
