This is it. The final issue.
It's been a wild ride.
I can't think of a track that would be appropriate but here's one that i think matches the mood in an ironic fashion.

The comedy is over.
>>90800671
>No meaning
>No pattern
>Then why have i suffered all this?
That line always got to me for some reason.
>>90800696
>For we are both truly dead. Our age has gone.
>>90800508
I really love the art contrast. Its a shame so few series try to do this.

And thus......
>>90800556
That fucking armor
Why is it so good?
>>90800791
Elric, son of Sadric, last of his line dies by the blade that brought him such misery.

THE END
Thank you everyone for coming along on this storytime series.
I hope this series has entertained you just as much as it did me.
And if i turned even one person onto this overall series, then i will have considered this a resounding success.
And for those that want em, will post download links.

I do have to ask for people that followed, what did you think of the whole thing?
>>90800746
>>90800996
I think a lot of things like the art direction and designs is far superior to the 2014 attempt at it.
I also really love how there is insane contrast between The Elementals, Lords of Law, and Dukes of Chaos.
I also love its contrast with Conan.
>>90801085
>I think a lot of things like the art direction and designs is far superior to the 2014 attempt at it.
I think it's just different but not superior. Both are fantastic and fit their series.
>I also love its contrast with Conan.
Well Elric IS the anti-Conan and was made to be exactly that by way of Monsieur Zenith
>>90801142
Elric is sorta Anti Conan.
But at the same time its not.
Conan doesn't meddle with Magic, but other Howard protags do: And they always get fucked over, or creped out over the best result
Elric is interesting. Not because he has frail, or because he needs to crutch himself on magic, herbs or his runeblade. Thats just flavor.
Elric is interesting because all his suffering is caused by him making really bad choices, and they just pile up.
Contrasted by Conan who suffers because his power is limited, even when he makes really good choices.
>>90801255
>Elric is interesting because all his suffering is caused by him making really bad choices, and they just pile up.
Yep. Hit the nail on its head. That's what i love about him.
Despite his entire race being a bunch of assholes that had that notion engraved into it, he means well. But his dumb decisions just get the better of him.
Bumpan
Might do Ruby Throne/Stormbringer tomorrow. Who would be interested in that?
>>90801613
/co/ is a bunch of fages. They wouldn't know what they want
>>90801914
;____;
I feel like i would get more of a reaction on bloody /tg/ if the mods wouldn't just outright delete the thread.
>>90801965
Thats life.
At the least /tg/ isn't Questville now
>>90802069
Well Elric was right.
>No meaning
>No pattern
>Then why have i suffered all this?
>I have lost wife and world - and do not know why.
That's existence in a nutshell.
>>90801613
Great read! I'd love it.
>>90797368
>Stormb Ringer
but this is classic
>>90802404
If more people in this thread show signs of life, i'll do it tomorrow at around the same time as i did this.
My last bump.
And again, thanks to everyone who followed.
>>90797417
Has P.Craig kept at it since that "Marvel Graphic Novel No.2" and just found different publishers as the years went on?
>>90801965
dude, I've been lovin' this storytime but I'm not always sitting at my computer ready to reply to you.
>>90797368
Awww yeah!
>>90797558
I love how in some panels you have faces that are cartoony.
But then you get these great faces like in that first panel that feel so human and alive.
>>90797768
That's what I love about Melniboneans, they're practical to a fault.
>>90798192
What a charming fellow this dead god is...
Thank you OP

>>90798613
>And what is my task?
>Why Elric, only the most Metal task ever.
>To destroy the Dukes of Hell.
>>90798914
Oh dude, Stormbringer materializes inside the guys throat?
That's brutal.
>>90799503
>That look on Elric's face as he tickles the commander's heart with his blade...
Damn, son.
>>90799949
That cover is kind of amazing.
I love the idea that the Lords of Law are fans of Art Deco.

Still reading. Thanks for storytiming this OP, it's pretty cool.
>>90819939
Yw
Just got vol 3 and 4 and loving having these in physical form
bless your soul OP
Thank you for your storytime OP, sorry I am only just joining you. I have never read any Elric before but I have heard that he is something of a Template for Starlin's Warlock.
>>90801965
I've enjoyed these storytimes so thanks OP, but surely you must know that any thread on /co/ which isn't either capeshit, live action capeshit, waifu cartoons or /pol/ vs tumblr bait is fated to die with few posts. This is the way of things.
What's everyone's favourite visual depiction of Elric? I've always liked Robert Gould's book covers.
>>90821140
Amano is pretty good and aparrently Moorcock's favorite. I like the french one personally
>>90819099
It's like Elric turns into One Punch Man every so often.
>>90821140
Id' just like to see that Elric tv series they're masterminding behind the scenes to come out so more people will know about it.
>>90821874
Funny thing is Elric has never had a game, but all the characters that are just ripoffs of him have gotten games.
>>90821933
Yep. Witcher rings a fucking bell but i blame that one more on Sapkowski.
Also Warcraft NEVER had an interesting story to tell until W3 popped up with Arthas which was just Elric with undead.
Also every anime character and trope he inspired.
>>90821972
>>90821933
Don't forget that Moorcock is sort of responsible for the way comic continuity is done now.
I could be wrong on this but Alan Moore introduced the foundation of what we NOW know as the multiverse in his Captain Britain series(this is different to the way DC was handling it back then) which he admitted he took from Moorcock and the Eternal Champion.
>>90822021
Moorcock is also supposed to be responsible for inventing 8 sided star for the chaos symbol too
>>90822057
Yep. But he's not the one who did Law vs Chaos. That was Poul Anderson who inspired Moorcock when he was young.
>>90822081
The concept of law vs chaos is ancient has shit too anyways
>>90799653
oh man, not Rakhir
>>90799917
Be warned, what you are about to see is a horror, ripped straight from the pages of Kafka.
should probably give neil gaiman credit for introducing me to michael moorcock, but i read the entire sandman series before i got to elric and i was actually kind of pissed off to see how much sandman rips from elric. not just the sad/goth protag and the different flavors of reality, but even down to the writing style. gaiman's sandman even turns albino at the end. wtf
>>90823624
I don't think Moorcock is too mad about that.
Dear Mike,
I started reading your work thirty years ago. I was nine, and the book was Stormbringer.
At the time it was a little like having the top of my head ripped off and magnificent multicoloured ideas poured in.
I read everything I could find you'd written as it was published-several feet of books rapidly appearing on my bookshelves over the next couple of years. I even read everything I could find by people you mentioned, discovering authors like Mervyn Peake in the process.
I took it for granted that a good author could and should be able to write anything and write anything well in any genre or way, and bend and break genres and rules at will-after all, you did it.
Looking back now, the things that stick are the strange ones that don't fit, from the Sex Pistols' novel-newspaper (Irene Handl as Mrs Cornelius?) to the mysterious newspaper-wrapped packages of The Chinese Agent…
You've been an inspiration. Or to put it another way, I'm probably mostly your fault.
It's good finally to have someone to blame-
Neil Gaiman
TLDR: NOTICE ME MOORCOCK SENPAI
Decided to do the new series.
>>90824275 Come along
>>90823707
yeah lol
and i'm just repeating the cycle w reading everybody gaiman mentioned
i just hope i can come up with my own ideas one day
>>90824374
YES
>>90823707
>>90824909
Hey, I met Michael Moorcock at the World Science Fiction Convention many years ago.
We had a brief discussion after the Hugo Awards about where an author should get ideas from.
He told me that I should read everything, take ideas I liked, and make them my own.
So I don't think he'd mind what Neil Gaiman does overly much.Mr. Moorcock is a cool dude in person, btw.
>>90825632
A living legend.
>>90825632
Do you remember what else he told you?
>>90825907
We didn't really talk about much more than that.
I was pretty young at the time and he was one of my favorite authors ever, so I was basically just trying hard not to spaz out.
I think we might have discussed some of the winners at the Hugo Awards that night. (This was in 1997 in San Antonio. He was living in Bastrop, Tx at the time. And I was amazed that this fantastic British author has relocated to a town I went to for Boy Scout summer camps.)
>>90827051
>1997 was 20 years ago

>>90827328
