I think it has something to do with her heart though since Lila mentioned that opossums living past 20 with it are rare. If I were to speculate, I think IMS allows their magic nullifying field to expand far greater than normal limits usually allow, like how Poppy was able to create a null field that could be felt miles away in Poppy 5.
