I don't think it will. Second season and the book show that really give a fuck about the lore and characters, despite some of the claims made against it early on. You really get the vibe that there are a bunch of people working on it who give a fuck.

Of course that doesn't mean the writing quality will remain consistent; shit can always happen. I'm just not expecting the plot to grind to a halt after all this buildup for like 10 episodes in a row either.
