Just finished the issue, really like it so far.

I'm glad that Ellis isn't falling into the trap of doing the same storylines from old Wildstorm and cranking out hardcore fanservice for nostalgiafags. Story is intriguing, looking forward to the rest.

My totally unasked for thoughts:

1) I really like the commitment to making the Wildstorm comic look completely cinematic. This isn't actually my preferred visual style but it is 100% Wildstorm and very visible here.

2) Love the plot knotting. This comes together a lot more than it did in the first issue. Love that something so straightforward ("superhero saves falling man") becomes this murderfuck nightmare once the WS forces get involved. And innocuous, too - Angela just *asked* her boss for help. None of this had to happen like it did, but we're in the shit now.

3) Zealot's voice isn't quite being how I'm used to it yet. I think from #2 this is more intentional than not. Zealot isn't from here after all (assuming that stays). I do really like how while the vocab is different Zealot and Grifter have similarities in how they're thinking and approaching this.

4) Total sucker for this kinda scene and motivation: >>90748458 >>90748473

I'm more eager to see where this is going than I was from the #1, and we're building the cast with all the familiar faces and it's going to come to this traincrash conclusion that I really want to see.

tl;dr - get hype

You just lost any right to complain about the over saturation of /tv/ content and /pol/ shit, because recs are what is causing that. Every other board sees that we have no standards, no barrier to entry in the community, and so they have no reservations about coming here to shitpost while we take it directly in the ass.

Kill yourself. You are why /co/ is so terrible.

>>
>>90754275
The JSAnon went through a bunch of Wildstorm stuff, and I think did wildcats 3.0 as well. "We" must refer to the people who usually go in those threads
>>
>>90754537
Cool, just wanted to make sure. I know DC has been playing fast and loose with its other imprints, so I'm glad Ellis isn't constrained by any sort of canon or anything.
>>
>>90754643
Young Animal is technically in the DCU as an imprint but is unlikely to really have much cross over (did anyone storytime Cave Carson today?). Vertigo is mostly dead as it is, and the only thing that could be DCU is Lucifer, but that thing is barely connected to even the first series for that character.

The Wild Storm is its own thing. There are technically two Midnighters running around then, but who knows when he will appear in the DCU again since his miniseries ended
>>
>>90754864
Orlando is writing Supergirl, and while it might sound cliche, having Apollo and by extension midnighter be a supporting character could be interesting.
>>
>>90754538
No, /tv/ and /pol/ are what causes that. We need effective moderation of shitposting and baiting threads, not a crackdown on recs.

I have zero experience with Wildstorm so very little of this makes much sense.

>RoboLady saves man who fell out of a building.
>SHITSTORM for some reason.
>At least one organization wants to kill RoboLady for some reason.
>Other people dicking around doing god knows what with guy who was tossed out window originally... for some reason

I hope this picks up soon. It's pretty boring at the moment.
>>
>>90758918
They explain the shitstorm is because the tech she used was supposed to be secret and now it has been exposed to the world and the different groups want her for their own purposes.

The window tossing was explained in the first one, you should probably read it so you'll have context for this issue.

Middy and Apollo are confirmed, albeit Ellis promised them to be really different from their classic versions.

We all know you love knotting, Ellis. Now get off the internet forever.

Next issue is obviously the 'things kick off' issue and will lead to the titular WildC.A.T.
>>
Oh cool, they're doing the Wildstorm characters again? What have I missed?

Everything published so far is in this thread. Warren Ellis is curating the whole imprint, like Way is for Young Animal. First book is "The Wild Storm" by Ellis, with at least two future spin-offs planned: a Deathblow book and a Wildcats book.

The whole thing is a redo of the Wildstorm universe and right now it's more low-key but lots of hints that old factors will be returning soon.

Is this any good /co/?
Do I need to read anything before this?
Completely out of the blue for wildstorm, most I know of it was Grifter in Future's end

Is the implication that Cole's boxers say TOMCAT?

>The villain.
Bendix is the hero we do not deserve to have

There were blank entries in Multiversity, not sure all were filled in yet.

So is Majestic going to be black? Assuming all the relations between characters remain the same from the old Wildstorm his daughter is brown but her mother is white. So Majestic would be dark skinned

Yeah, because reading hundreds to thousands of pages off a rec list is absolutely pig disgusting casual. Reading Giffen's Midnighter isn't being a Truman, it's just stupidly masochistic and a rec list would have kept me from buying that shit in trade when it came out.

If you base your opinions on what other strangers you know absolutely nothing about are saying then you're a retard.

Yes

No

You Welcome anon.

Maybe. As an alternative crack theory. maybe the Daemonite-style possession is going to apply to both sides now.

Thanks for storytiming OP. This book seems interesting, but I have no fucking clue about the Wildstorm universe at all apart from Grifter being a dude with guns, and a little about Midnighter.

Ellis is a good storyteller though (when he actually tells stories that is) so I'm interested in seeing where this goes.

Of Course.

You don't need to be familiar with WildStorm to understand this, you're just bad at using context to figure things out
