Am I the only one who isn't upset about the minions being in this movie. I mean, they still seem to be doing the same schtick as the last three movies they've been in. However in this movie, they seem to be only there for the comic relief which is a huge step compared to ths second movie and definitely the Minions movie.

This movie is actually focusing on what the franchise is best at, Gru and the supervillans.

Nah, KFP1 was okay and KFP2 was actually better than the first. I have no idea just how bad the third one was, but seeing as I haven't seen it and nobody talks about it I'm guessing it scores under the first one. As for the show I was fond of it, though mostly because the voice acting and world building (what I love most in animated stuff) was pretty solid.

And you can't forget Shrek and Shrek 2 (3 and 4 weren't good and Puss wasn't half bad as a fairy tale western) or the so bad it's awful and so awful it's okay Bee Movie. You can salvage about one and half good movies worth of content from the Madagascar series and Road to El Dorado is a classic. And Antz, Croods, and Chicken Run are all mildly adequate (though Chicken Run gets points for being in the Wallace and Gromit style).

But generally yeah Dreamworks can only make three kinds of movies- really good, really bad, and barely above bad.
