Why do so many people keep thinking she'll be cancelled instead of a quick relaunch that gets her back to basics? I've seen at least 7 publications that kept circulating the same article about how important Kamala is. Even if she sells like garbage there's no way they'd get rid of a solo ongoing. If your friend confesses romantic love for you and you don't reciprocate, especially if you're the same gender, your relationship is going to be awkward and weird from then on. The confessor is going to feel weird still being attracted to the other person but never being able to truly act on it, and the other person is going to feel weird knowing that their friend is in love with them while feeling nothing in return.

It's doomed to failure. If they were real people. Zoe and Nakia might hang around each other for a little while, but they'll eventually drift apart because being around each other is too awkward.

You sound too much like you're speaking from experience. What was his name and why didn't you make sure he was gay too before you fucked it all up?

There is more DRAMA this way.
>>
I wish it had more epic MMO references
>>
>>90745743
It would be very unlikely that she would be?

You'd complain if she was.
>>
>>90739904
This book has become boring.
>>
>>90741575
It will probably happen after Secret Empire.

Gone.

>>90745743
She didn't even say she wasn't a lesbian. Just that she wasn't into her.
>>
>>90739592
To be fair, SHIELD are legitimately evil.

At most she's pitting two supervillains against one another.

Also I can't believe this book STILL hasn't recovered from the Bendising it got during CWII. Nigga has the fucking touch of death.
>>
>>90740602
No, issue #18 is a solo story about Bruno and then I guess the last arc. Which might be a tie-in to Secret Empire, so prepare for Doctor Faustus and Hydra Hipsters to show up.
Now the question is if Kamala will get a relaunch after the Hitlering is over.
>>
>>90748100
>a tie-in to Secret Empire, so prepare for Doctor Faustus and Hydra Hipsters to show up.
Because why does anybody need their own villains when they can just be thrown against HYDRA?
>>
>>90740536
Fuck that, I'm glad this book is gradually getting its real cast back after it was nearly destroyed by some dumb event.

As far as I'm concerned, the less of the Champions there is in this book, the better.
>>
>>90743505
If you enjoy those then add Unstoppable Wasp, Superman, Gotham Academy and Super Sons
>>
This book took such a nosedive.

No first-time reader would like this stupid "virus and lesbians" arc. You guys are too invested on Kamala to call a bad arc a bad arc.
>>
>>90747428
Maybe he is Milo?
>>
>>90748365
My guess is the writer just doesn't know what to do after Civil War came in, took all her toys, and smashed them.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cueball was still pushing his awful ship with editorial, and having to wait on it means that MM's story has ground to a halt.
>>
>>90748312
To be fair, those shmucks were in the book since the relaunch. Maybe she will finally kick them out for good?

>>90748365
>No first-time reader would like this stupid "virus and lesbians" arc.
I've been reading comics for 20 years and I like it.
>>
>>90748484
>I've been reading comics for 20 years and I like it.
Which part of "first-time reader" didn't you understand?
>>
>>90748548
Sorry, I misunderstood the sentence. I thought you meant it as that only someone who never read a comics before could like it.

But... why would a first-time reader pick up any arc of this series and not the previous one? And if they did pick up this series, why not the Hydra arc, the first one?
>>
>>90740308
not really, like half of WoWs population are women, and most probably the writer plays WoW. It is a dated reference, but still, I could believe Kamala plays because someone else got her into it, the last batch of new people started around MoP.
>>
>>90739830
>Kamala isn't the brightest bulb
women LOVE and EAT that trope every morning with bread and juice
>>
>>90748365
I don't care about the lesbian shit because that happens in every new comic now-a-days but I don't see what's the problem with what's supposed to be a young not skilled hero going up against low level threats.

Wasn't one of her first villains a guy with a cockatiel head I mean seriously?

What I don't care for is Champions.
>>

Would that mean the return of Becky? I need more of my fascistfu.

Because when you do start the dial at 10, you can go any higher.
>>
>>90750736
What's she gonna do? Write an angry Tweet? Without Carol backing her with gear, she's no threat at all.
>>
>>90739831
This. This is good.
Not everyone is gay/bi and sometimes the person a guy person falls for isn't. Hell, most people aren't into that, and yet this never happens in any works of fiction. It's the ONLY thing I'll give DoA credit for.
>>
>>90739453

God damn it Monsoon
>>
>>90750403
Having lower level villains isn't what's bad. It's that there's absolutely no stakes or sense of any threat that they pose. The first arc of ANGR used Mr. Hyde, a low level z-list villain, yet made him come off as a threatening challenge for Robbie to go up against. In Ms. Marvel the biggest "threat" she's faced is a ginger fascist who for an issue led her down the "wrong" path regarding crime fighting.

Her current villain is a sentient virus that threatens to doxx her and her friend and said blackmail is immediately negated because within a few pages they both go "fuck that" meaning where's the threat? The threat was what was held over her and it amounted to nothing. This virus can possess people so why, instead, did it not just possess Zoe and threaten to do the outing that way and if that isn't enough of a threat then have he will do much worse to her friend (engage in criminal activity to further fuck up her reputation, never give up control, self-harm, anything). The threat remains low level yet is still presented as, well, a threat and there are actual stakes for Kamala.
>>
>>90739856
Bruno's still being a little twat about what he did to himself.
>>
>>90750807
Join Hydra, have access to Hydra tech, carry out Cap's vision of a fascist utopia while getting revenge on Kamala.
>>
>>90750933
Except Becky considers herself a hero (skewed as her methods are), and so she obviously wouldn't join with HYDRA.
>>
>>90750879
Monsoon was right. Monsoon was always right.
>>
>>90742608
Literally is only pretending to have read the comic to bitch, fuck off.

>>90750902
>Having lower level villains isn't what's bad. It's that there's absolutely no stakes or sense of any threat that they pose.
He was going to reveal her identity which is pretty much the classic superhero threat to have against you. You don't say "Fuck that" to that lightly and neither did Kamala.
>>
>>90751136
Look I just want Becky back alright stop being a buzzkill.
>>
>>90751136
Just have her get the pitch over Captain America's interpretation of what Hydra is/should be. A force to improve the world by any means.
>>
>>90739644
2017, everyone.
>>
>>90739392
This issue was really good.
>>
>>90750807
Her gear was privately owned. She's a trust-fund baby.
>>
>>90750902
But how is that a nose dive? You compared it to a completely different tonal book not it's own continuity.

Remember COCKTIEL head. CANADIAN ninja. Hipsters. The book isn't about fighting big crime and high stakes. It's silly and mostly character driven. It's a book for teens with issues they get.

I understand not liking that but not all books have to be the same stakes.
>>
>>90739800
Yes, this is totally a white girl thing.
>>
>>90751351
What the fuck is hard to understand? Not everything needs to be "save the world" tier but you can give villains a sense of threat while still having something lighter.

Jesus, look at Formerly Known as the Justice League. It's a fucking comedy book and yet is still able to at least make it feel like there's shit at stake regarding what happens to Captain Atom and Manga Khan's threats to annihilate the Earth if he doesn't get L-Ron back.

There's no sense of threat, no sense that anything is truly at stake in this book. The villains are complete non-entities that are impossible to take seriously and pose virtually no threat to the hero, her friends and family or even really the immediate area of Jersey City. Yes it's a character driven book but it is still, ostensibly, a superhero book so your villains have to be able to pose some level of threat for the hero even if they're practically in the back seat compared to the character drama.
>>
>>90751240
Yeah. We are back to the central characters, Bruno is of (incidental) help, despite being still pissed as fuck, development is paying off, Kamala is cute and idealistic as fuck, Doc.X is showing some personality and might get redeemed. That's quite a bit better than what we had lately.
Also I kinda want Kamala to have the troll as a buddy to do tech stuff and do her cyber security and spell out the obvious shit she's missing.
>>
>>90740536
>wanting insufferable Cunt-mala from Champions to infect the solo version
I don't care how much more sense it would make on every technical level to call Cho. I'd rather Kamala rely on her existing secondary cast in her own damn solo and remain free from referencing anything from fucking Waid.
>>
>>90752616
You said it took a nose dive. You have provided no internal proof. You just keep comparing it to other books.

By the way you speak about it it never went the way you wanted so there was no nosedive to take. You've just declared yourself arbiter of what all comics should be because reasons.

Fun fact; They can be anything you can accomplish with the art and writing.
>>
>>90745189
Story of my life anon. Minus the gay part.
>>
>>90740434
Not to mention the fact that she's doing said retard-behaving while also inventing random super-science shit for super-science fairs.

...wait, is she supposed to be autistic? Like, not meme autistic, but actually autistic?
>>
>>90745349
I'm not the anon who you were replying to, but I can verify that, yeah, when she said no, it got...it got really bad, and our friendship pretty much ended almost immediately.

Still hurts, thinking about it almost 20 years later, today.

(and now I'll add that I'm a she too, only to make it contextual with the gender dynamic in the comic that started this discussion)
>>
>>90753739
Nah. This is Marvel 616, where minors have develop anti-grav and pocket-sized fusion reactors for the science fair.
She's just a bit slow on the uptake and really busy.
Seriously, teens can miss many things less self-absorbed humans would immediately notice.
>>
>>90753739
>Implying she wasn't being carried by Bruno
>>90753957
Try again in CURRENT YEAR to see if it works
>>
>>90750809
Yeah, I have to give it credit. A lot of the recent MM writing has been pretty (not) hit or miss, but this was some pretty devastating, but well written, truth.
>>
>>90753994
But what next?
Think they'll get over it or will it just be too weird?
Maybe if Kamala spills the beans on them, this will look unimportant by comparison.
I can't see a comic do an awkward end to a friendship, leaving characters dangling in shitty teenage angst. I mean, their lives are strange as they are, after Josh and Bruno and Becky all blew up in sone way or another, they went through an end of days, Jersey became a battle ground... what's a bit of romantic tension there, right?
>>
>>90739831
>>90745189

Zoe's going to need to spend a lot more money on coffee's for Nakia to not make this constantly awkward for the rest of their friendship
>>
>>90743263
>Captain Marvel in Young Justice was great, way to ruin the female version by making it all about sjw trash.
I don't read comics, just complain about them: the post
>>
>>90745189
To provide a counterpoint I had something similar happen. We drifted apart but only due to distance not awkwardness. It was pretty awkward but we are still good friends and when we do catchup we basically start right where we last left off.

I am actually happy with this issue of Ms Marvel. She might get her groove back after all.
>>
>>90739674
I wonder what would Illuminating Comics do with the same scene. Most probably Kamala fangirling over yuri ships or something.
>>
>>90739701
that pretty much implies Kamala sucks at keeping her identity secret. But considering she only cover her face with a domino mask and doesnt nothing else to conceal it, its kinda obvious.
>>
>>90753739

I think she's just book smart but sheltered and naive.
>>
>>90739392
So progressive
>>
>>90744559
>Spider-man beat Norman Osborn down so hard that he has a death certificate
I'm gonna put that on a frame.
>>
>>90739856
What if Bruno uses the virus to get back at Ms. Marvel and becomes a villain ?
>>
>>90745290
4chan is exactly where I would expect to find an expert in losing friends.
>>
>>90757878
This is so true it wraps around from being a joke to just being a statement of fact.
>>
>>90739831
I think the fact that Zoe didn't get the girl makes her actions more admirable. Like she didn't get Nakia's love in the end, but she still pressed on. Zoe's probably the best character int he comic right now.
>>
>>90745189
Been there, done that, from the POV of the one being confessed to. Still friends seven years later, although not as close as we once were.
