Remember when you were a kid and you'd put all your toys together, making Snake Eyes and Flint ride on Optimus Prime while you pretended that your M.A.S.K. Thunderhawk could turn into something that wasn't a car with its doors open? It's basically that.

>>90742628

>>90739372
And a Cybertronian dead inside the pyramid >>90739040 Who is that?
>>90742461
As underused as Skywarp is, I feel that understandable from a writing perspective. He is a giant robot that can (hopefully) teleport. I'd hate too see later issues boil down to the Joes with their backs against a wall only to repeatedly be bailed out by Skywarp.
Ideally I'd like to see him go up against a wraith-aligned cybertronian but only time will tell what Sitterson has in store for him.
>>90743748
He'll fight an Inhumanoid or two.
>>90738852
This is shouting crossover between Bulletman, Transformers and Hellboy.
>>90743748
No, I totally get why he isn't used that much but I would still love to see him do something, thay said I'm enjoying him being an ass to some of the characters and them just brushing it off like he's a cranky kid.
Even Scarlett was kind of amused when he called her until she realized it was an emergency.
>>90743748
I don't think that will happen mainly because Skywarp hates being used to fight by what he thinks is beneath him (like the Ninjas) and the Joes onky seem to ask him for help when they really need him.
Once the Inhumanoids pop out (because they are totally being teased) he's going to get some action.
That said I am liking him getting acknowledged even if it's for a few pages, so far it looks like Sitterson is focusing on his relationship with Grand Slam and Rock n' Roll and continuing the stuff from the Revolution Joe tie in.
Speaking of Rock what you think Crystal Ball did to him?
Thanks for the storytime OP
It took me this long to realize that Soundwave was probably looking for Shockwave, like in that Bludgeon (or was it Soundwave?) Spotlight issue...
The Mask's annual screenwriter could replace the screenwriter of comic.
>>90740574
>Guess I should go read that 1800s Transformers stuff, then?
This is a real life reference to it, not an in-universe one. There's no continuity between the IDW's main G1 series and Hearts of Steel.
wiki copypaste fun facts
>The "meet the cast" feature at the start of this issue establishes that Bulletman had his name as a hero by saving the town of Poverty Flat. This little town previously appeared in Robots in Disguise #29-30.
>The hieroglyphics seen in the first panel of the story include renderings of Shockwave, Micronauts Acroyear and Biotron. Shockwave has been entombed on Earth since prehistoric times, as seen in Spotlight: Shockwave, while there is an as-yet unexplained link between the Micronauts and ancient Egypt that is being explored over in their own title.
In addition to what's described above, the heirogylphics also contain something that doesn't exist in IDW continuity yet: the irregular hexagon chestplate design of the Visionaries!
>Kreiger refers to the robotic technology created by the Talisman as "Binaltech," after the Japanese name for the Transformers: Alternators toyline. Later in the story, when trying to come up with a name for Soundwave, Colton calls him an "Alternator." Additionally, this isn't the first time Kreiger and Binaltech have been connected; he was one of the Concurrence of villains featured in the fiction associated with the Binaltech toyine.
>The title of this story, along with the name "Amtoltec" and the whole conceit of the Adventure Team fighting mummies, is taken from the 1970 G.I. Joe playset, "The Secret of the Mummy's Tomb," and the comic book with which it came packed. The mummy in that particular story was just a guy in disguise Scooby-Dooing it up!

>>90747600
i hope not, we've got enough crossing over already happening. we don't need to add ghostbusters, x-files, tnmt, the crow, and cthulhu to the mix.
>>90747801
Did you not read the MTMTE tie-in to TR? Sentinel fell down a pit, and Prowl took Blackrock to Cybertron. (before he somehow got back to Earth)
>>90740574
I don't think that's a real problem if the rotors are in their resting position and when reconfigured for use the rotor assembly is raised. I could be wrong but I think that's the usual approach.
>>90747868
I remember Sentinel jumping through a space bridge with Blackrock/Sovereign and then that's it. Don't recall if anybody found them after he sicced the Titans on Cybertron.
>>90747868
>Sentinel fell down a pit

>and Prowl took Blackrock to Cybertron. (before he somehow got back to Earth)
Prowl never went to Cybertron, he took Blackrock to Earth.
>>90748012
Event 1 happened BEFORE event 2. It's how he got to the titans in the first place.
>>90748012
You're getting your stories mixed up. That happened at the end of the exRiD tie-in, and the MTMTE tie-in took place after; that was when he sent the Titans to Cybertron.

Some sort of latent mind control. My guess is Crystal Ball is either a wraith or some sort of hybrid (those totally came up during revolution right?) and is gonna trigger Rock ether next issue or in a couple.
What I found really strange was the symbol that appeared on Rocks head was the same one on his shirt. Maybe it was just a coincidence?

Blackrock didn't even really need to be set up for Revolutionaries from this since he was already detailed by the Joes. The only thing that feels like a long lasting contribution (besides Prowl joining up with Fort Max and who the fuck knows when that'll come up again) is the Titans returning, and that's just turning into, "Oh look, zombies. Giant zombies." And they aren't even that hard to put down. Regular guns are working in many cases.

Revolutionaries and Joe are so good.
Especially Revolutionaries though. Barber is such a fantastic writer.
>>90749272
everyone's ignoring the simplest explanation: >>90746664
>>90747826
Transformers Infestation 2 was self contained. With Infest 2 IDW just branded it as a "crossover" only in name. There was online one issue of "Infestation 2" with all the tie-ins with the other franchises keeping to their own universes.
Like another anon said, Infestation 2 is a direct sequel to Hearts of Steel
>>90749413
At least it explained why Red Alert is so paranoid in this universe, Shadowplay!! Plus it introduced Cerebros. Also it tied up some Scavangers plot point. And set up the conflict so that Elita-1 vs Starscream later on.
>>90749645
Oh no, you misunderstand. I wasn't listing the other participants of the Infestion 2 crossover event.I was listing the participants of the X-Files: Conspiracy crossover event, which all happened in one universe: the Hearts of Steel universe.
>>90739222
Yeah they're adorable, they mainly found each other because Ian likes Kup's stories and Kup doesn't seem to mind Ian's puns both things which drives everyone else crazy.
>>90749757
>X-Files: Conspiracy
>As the event concludes in The X-Files: Conspiracy #2, the Lone Gunmen and FBI Agent Dana Scully use samples obtained from the Transformers and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to fashion a vaccine for the virus (no, really). Doing so creates a paradox in time and space (as it was the Lone Gunmen who sent the information about the virus back in time) and ultimately the events of the miniseries are erased from history. We'll have to wait and see how this will affect any future stories centering around the Evolutions universe.
It seems like there won't be any problems with other franchises. maybe the Time Paradox is the reason Steel Bee is in the main IDWverse.
>>90749905
Just because the events are erased doesn't mean the characters involved are erased as well. They're all still there in their one shared home universe.
>maybe the Time Paradox is the reason Steel Bee is in the main IDWverse.
Jesus fucking Christ, why is everyone so hung up on this idea? IT'S A REAL LIFE PRODUCTION REFERENCE, NOT AN IN UNIVERSE CONTINUITY REFERENCE. Y'all didn't rack your brains over everyone taking on WFC bodies in RID, why is such a simple concept eluding everyone now?
>>90750107
>WFC bodies in RID
With that analogy, it looks like you're saying that it is in fact main G1 Bumblebee in his HoS body. So which is it? Same character in a new body or a new character.
>>90750282
No, I'm saying a style of body from a different continuity is being referenced via its inclusion in this universe. It happens all the fucking time in Tranaformers.
This steampunky robot might be IDW 'Bee that's somehow gone back in time and took on a steampunk form because of that, or, more likely, it might be a new character that just looks like 'Bee that has a steampunky body for some so far unknown reason. Either one is HIGHLY more probable than actual Hearts of Steel Bumblebee being universe shifted or the Hearts of Steel universe being the same as the main IDWverse.
I mean, fuck, it's not that difficult.
>>90749749
The problem, least as I see it, is that you can do all of that without some stupid overhyped crap crossover drama. Red Alert's issues, even Garrison's cybertronian identity (his original self rather than just being a human who found out he's a Transformer), and definitely the Elita v Starscream tussle and cyber pets didn't need Sentinel to return from the dead and bring a bunch of Titans back from the grave.
There are really only two things that come from this, I think, which is that Sentinel PROBABLY isn't dead given how ridiculous that death would be and nobody going to heck if there was a corpse (seriously, Fort Max? That's cop 101) and the greater ties to Onyx whenever his dumbass decides to show up (outside of a story in the annual, that is).

He's the youngest Army Ranger in history, so he was likely only 18-19 in the mid-80's. That'd put him as around 50 in 2017, which is pushing it, but not ridiculous.
>>90751458

check a damn solicitation you autistic fuck
>Thousands of years ago
Remember when Alpha Trion said that Shockwave wasn't the first cybertronian to mess with earth last year??
>>90751638
>mid-80's
I thought the Adventure Team, in-universe, was setup earlier like late 60s-early70s.
Is IDW Micronauts recommendable?
>>90751753
Were the Predacons in Hearts of Steel, too?
>>90751864
It's better than M.A.S.K. so it has that going for it.
>>90751864
Yeah, it's pretty fun.
>>90751895
>The Predacons are not tied to the new Cobra Commader/Hearts of Steel plot, not yet at least
>So far that its concerned, its Snake-Eyes vs the Predacons as a different plot point.
Remember that Revolutionaries is suppose to connect to boarder Hasbro Shared Universe.
Plus I hope they bring up that China employed the Predacons in early IDW when North Korea was employing the Combaticons.
So what's so terrible about M.A.S.K.?
I noticed /co/ aren't so hot about it since Revolution begins.
>>90751947
Reading the Annual has really bummed me out. That was actually pretty good. Why couldn't we get a MASK series that actually feels like the show? Every issue has been a steady flow of
>DRAMA!
>uninspired action
>the MASK vehicles just kinda being there
>MORE DRAMA!
>bullshit cliffhanger
In every goddamn issue. Easton doesn't give half a fuck about the source materiel. 3 issues in I know, bu so far we've learned nothing about the VENOM guys save for their bios and a few throwaway lines. They're somehow more two-dimensional than their cartoon counterparts. And there's a severe lack of vehicular action in this series, it drives me up the wall so to speak.
>>90750107

It might be difficult for your thought process but goddamn you're one stupid motherfucker.
>>90751561
That doesn't specify the Hearts of Steel-universe Hearts of Steel bots, it could just be MainIDW's version of them. It also sounds like standard marketing hyperbole anyway.
>>90752599
Again, that's not specific enough to say it's THE HoS characters. Could be the concept.
>>90752599
Oh man remember when the solicts tried to convince everyone that Turmoil was a fan favorite character we were all demanding to come back

>>90751864
Is that even a question? Acroyear alone makes it worth reading.

I thought that precise solict was talking about Wheeljack's comeback to the forefront just to have his chest blasted by issue's end.

>nigger grasping that hard at straws.
Whatever you say faggot. Stay in denial. This is Barber who fucking tied Spotlight Mirage into the main IDW narrative 7 years later.
>>90753427
And Spotlight Ramjet.
>>90753427
>>90753477
those were part of the same universe
>>90753542
Ramjet did, but Mirage didn't fit with anything when it came out, and it was never talked about in anything until CW.
>>90753542
>those were part of the same universe
For Ramjat you got to remember that New Avengers/Transformers is canon to the IDWverse. But it took a long while to actually reference the ramifications of the spotlight.
At the time of publishing, Spotlight Mirage was ambiguous as fuck. Remeber the Mcguffin of the story was that Zodiac energy (from Jap G1 Zone) that Hound was experimenting on to replace energon.
http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Zodiac#IDW_Generation_1_continuity
>When the Decepticon Mirage infiltrated the Autobots' base, Optimus Prime charged the invader and sent him crashing into the Zodiac energy chamber. The strange cross-dimensional properties of the Zodiac energy offered Mirage a glimpse of another universe, in which he was an Autobot
>>90753812
>For Ramjat you got to remember that New Avengers/Transformers is canon to the IDWverse.
that has nothing to do with anything being discused
>>90753961
Was just put my 2 cents to the anon that said that barber finally reference Spotlight Ramjet a few years later. Cause before that NA/TF was iffy in the timeline. Are you even following the discussion?!
But ok then do have anything to say or add about Spotlight Mirage or just going deflect the discussion like a faggot?
>>90753257
No? He was already at the forefront before that issue.
>>90754116
1: spotlight ramjet doesn't even directly reference the avengers crossover
2: you have an odd and incorrect understanding of how canonicity works
>>90754379

-This issue takes place after the New Avengers/Transformers miniseries, and is written by the same author.

- Spotlight: Ramjet, which takes place after this series, begins during Escalation issue 2.
http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Earthfall_Chapter_5:_I_Dream_of_Wires#Continuity_notes
-Ramjet and Thrust have been dead for quite some time in IDW continuity; Ramjet was torn to bits by Megatron in his self-titled Spotlight seven years prior

- In any case, Ramjet's Spotlight issue, which takes place after this issue
Do some goddamn research your ignorant cunt
>>90754869
So, you are of the belief that the IDW continuity contains the Avengers, despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary?
>>90754974
Just like how the Invincible/Spider-Man Marvel Team Up is canon to Invincible lore but not to 616 Spidey
> IDW continuity contains the Avengers
You're saying that in a Hasbro Shared Universe that was created "despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary" aka a lot of hand waving.
>>90753170
I love how he is willing to fuck up Cybertronians even if they are significantly bigger than him.
I want him to pick a fight with a Combiner or a Titan although a Titan would barely acknowledge him.

He's looking for Bludgeon
>>90738761
>Hasbro shared universe
wait, why aren't midget horses included?
>>90756299
Megatron found them. Or them found Megatron, depends.
>>90756299
Take your pick: "reasons of tone" or "angry anti-fans will tear us a new asshole".
>>90756299
Not everything Hasbro is included
>>90757028
Or should be. Not going to get into the whole crapfest lest on quality or whatever lest we summon Barneyguy, but definitely not the kind of thing that fits on normal level with the things going on here. I mean sure maybe Rom can learn the power of friendship and learn to stop hating the Wraith and even marry one, I guess? Probably not.
Similar reason to why they don't add Angry Birds Transformers to canon.
>>90757908
I'm not sure he responds to just mentions of the show, just images, but then again we're talking about an Omega Level Autistic with a years long quest to, somehow, rid the world of Barney and poners, so...maybe?
I mean if he's the kind of person they're worried about upsetting, forget it, it's not worth it. If, however, they did add it I'm pretty sure it'd complicate talking about the series at least. I mean nobody ever storytimed the TF Pony crossover, right? People spaz if anyone posts any images of ponies from the live action movies.

>>90739561
Fucks sake Astrotrain, can you ever catch a break?
>>90758488
That depends, I guess. His head is still alive, right? Owing to whatever the heck is happening to him?
Not actually sure where his head wound up, either. Miles was going to turn it over, then suddenly shit goes down, his crew loading the container died, then his plane leaves, and we never really see the container. I mean I GUESS the Joes have it? I know they needed all three pieces of the puzzle but they did have the original sample they were studying, unless they lost it all when it self-destructed?
>>90758686
No idea. He's hopefully alive though.
We getting g anymore Robots in Disguise news soon?
>>90760934
The cartoon?
>>90751805
Timeline in Revolutionaries #1 pegs it as the 80's, plus Soundwave first arrived on Earth in 1984.

Panini Comics to Release Italian Translation of IDW Transformers:
Much to your admin's two minds about it all,* Panini Comics - who publish the Italian translations of Marvel comics - will be releasing the Italian translation of IDW Publishing's Transformers, starting from The Death of Optimus Prime! The first volume, due in May, will include the not-really-a-one-shot and the first three issues of More Than Meets the Eye from way back when. Check out the new blurb, in translation and including the original Italian spelling of the brand 'Trasformers', below!

>>90763840
ok? who cares
>>90762784
Huh. I didn't even pick up on that.
Looks kind of like it could be one of the Hearts of Steel Transformers, doesn't it?

That's a good one for a recent storytime TF threads nowadays
What happened? Do more people lose interest in IDW TF lately?
>>90764715
Not really? I mean, it's only been around since yesterday. Most of the time these things last at least until Friday evening.
>>90764743
I remember non-storytime TF comic threads used to get 300-500 replies, somewhere between Death of Optimus-Combiner Wars I think.
Or was that boosted by the cartoon?
>>90762784
One of these guys?
>>90767339

IDW has a website
use it
>>90740574
>Shouldn't it be "letting him die"?
Yes. They need a better editor.

There's also D&D and the non-main universe Transformers and Joe stuff.
>>90772523
Barber isn't an editor anymore, is he?
>>90740735
Is Gung-Ho gay in this? They seem to be hinting at that.
>>90772856

>>90772856
No, he quit because he wanted to write more.
>>90772984
I thought previous issues were hinting at Jaye being gay, personally.
>>90738761
Oh thank goodness Agent Fowler shows up along with some constipated people, an army of spaghetti mummies, and a super smirky dildo man. Guest starring purple Dinobot.
