The problem has nothing to do with the fact alot of the episodes aren't immediately plot relevant (well actually it kind of is), the problem is that by you'd only be making impressions worse on the person asking because that's still the case in season 2. So you'd purely be doing it to be a lorefag and not even one that would help someone see the full product for what it is before reaching the same conclusion themselves.

I know season 2 is a lot more plot oriented but by what we understand currently of the lore and such, you could still end up with an overwhelming majority of episodes being skippable. Star vs partially thrives on its episodic nature to give the inbetweens of plot episodes some breath of life and time to build context between the relationship between Star and Marco, which is easily one of the most important elements of the show, shipping or not. If he doesn't care for the SOL elements (which, by the way, is purely being judged on the first episode, which everyone agrees is weak and has no bearing on judgment or litmus for filler episodes that people actually enjoyed) then why would you suggest plot to him without giving him the part that would largely increase his likelihood of caring about the characters that drive it?

Actually feels pretty great when you consider its history.

Got shit before and during its premiere, saying it would get one lackluster season and quietly vanished. Then when it was renewed for a second literal days later it was said it didn't "deserve it."

Even some fans were saying they didn't expect a third season.

A fourth season just feels ridiculous. In a good way.

I'm hoping the next two seasons are around the length of 2 and that they can wrap up the story by the time it ends. If they can do that it'll end as a great fucking cartoon (and if they don't, I still love the first 2 seasons).

It really died off from pacing issues after season 1. There's still good episodes now and then, but only the adult characters haven't been turned into charicatures (Pearl, Greg, and Rose). The other characters are either underdeveloped or have completed arcs with no new conflicts by now, and they all act like parodies of their more rounded season 1 selves.
