So...back during the webcomic gold rush, everyone on Keenspace was trying to get onto Keenspot because you'd get a cut of the profits. Sexy Losers was up to join and, for some reason, it got to be voted on by existing members of Spot. It was voted down and it seemed pretty cut and dry until cheeky ol' Ghastly posted the chat logs of the voting and it turned out Willis and Howard Taylor (the Schlock Mercenary guy) were extremely vocal opponents of him getting in, despite there being more adult comics on the network already. Taylor threatened to quit over it (then quit months later anyway), but I'll always remember Willis's line from it. It was, and I paraphrase, "I wish he knew what we were saying about him, so he could see how much we hate him."

Space Coyote famously turned down a Keenspot invite over it, but much of the fiasco has been lost to the annals of internet history. I'll always dislike Willis for what a fucker he was back then, though.

So, for Carla, since she has the means, is likely to have had the surgery, since it's likely she wants it. But that's a really weird, impersonal way to look at her story, that completely ignores her personal dsyphoria, her feelings about her body, her feelings about surgery, etc.

What it tries to do is make characters both dramatic and comedic within the same frame of time, but in real-time would come off as either being a complete asshole, some kind of bipolar disorder, or just being an asshole. Willis needs to learn when to bring out whatever the scene calls for.

Walky is literally an intolerant bigottrying to expose and punish people he considers to be socially sinful. He is so insanely the same as his family that he claims to hate that its totally transparent and hilarious.

He has the same thing all his characters have, no sense of accountability or personal responsibility because of feelings of oppression. Walky permanently insists he is some smaller thing being crushed by something larger, making any actions justified, but he's totally oppressing himself here because he's actually a cognizant adult and a leader to a group of people himself. He infantilizes himself by fixating on his strawman oppressors instead of admitting he's a responsible adult.

Remember kids, empathy and understanding don't come from books or any laid-down law, they're achieved by specific awareness in individual moments. Walky believes he I morally superior because he has a rigid framework that he defines as his 'strong morality', but lacks any ability to survey the situation at hand and do what's best for everyone in that scenario. You have to be aware and know people, to do the right thing, not just follow a flow chart.
