Its looking real nice so far
All the comics have the little extra paragraph ath the bottom and extra things and stories between them as well. Pretty much as complete as you could ever want+extras. Seems like the printing quality will be good as well but will have to wait to be sure on that.

She says she's asexual on her tumblr.
>>
>>90636539
This is code for "I'm a virgin", "I had a bad experience with sex" or "I haven't found someone interested in me". It is impossible for humans to be asexual by definition.
>>
>>90636539
I find it hard to believe a human can have no sexual thoughts or desire whatsoever

Especially for someone who recently drew lewds
>>
>>90636674
Why do you think it's impossible for someone to have some sort of disorder?
>>
>>90619077
Japanese speak in [ ]. So they're all talking in STAND names?
>>
>>90637076
So many people who claim to be ace online are into porn, writing and/or drawing. They hand wave it by claiming to be sex positive asexuals, or whatever.

I don't doubt that there are people out there who are genuinely physically or mentally incapable of it, because there's all kinds of weird disorders that people can have, but for most of the tumblr crowd it's obviously bullshit. They just want to score their snowflake points with the least amount of effort possible, even by tumblr standards.
>>
>>90637172
A human can lack a sex drive due to a chemical imbalance in their brain. They can't, however, be asexual due to the definition of the word.

As an additional point, most people who claim asexuality don't even have the mentioned chemical imbalance. Which, as a note, can be treated by modern medicine.

She looks exactly like how most teachers looked in the schools I went to.

I bet if she worked out a bit, got some cuter glasses, and let her hair grow longer, she'd be at least a 7/10, maybe 8/10 with a little makeup.

She looks like a completely average woman otherwise. Not ugly, but not pretty either; and looks older than she probably is.

Her overall style is nice, but that person isn't talking about style. He's talking about how she drew the boobs incorrectly in that one drawing. As in the boobs are fused, the drawing that's right next to the butt one. It looks like she's wearing some kind of boob shirt.

Oh also the vagina drawing at the very bottom was redrawn. So I guess she is hearing some of the complaints and acknowledges them.

I see sex as repulsive and wouldn't do it under any circumstances. I have never seen pornography, the notion of it is disgusting to me.

That's not to say I'm pure, I like looking at provocative images of anime girls, just not depictions of sex.

So anons, will any of you be the one to warm Mary-sensei's spoiler]heart[/spoiler]?
>>
>>90648605
There literally nothing wrong with being asexual
>>
>>90649016
Except you're an unnatural freak?
>>
>>90637362
Being asexual doesn't necessarily mean you don't get pleasure from sex, it just means there are no types of people you find sexually attractive.
>>
>>90649215
Having a low sexual drive is normal and that's what most asexuals actually have.
>>
>>90649600
Not asexual, but think about how you feel about your non-preferred sex. They just feel like that about everyone. Makes sense to me.
>>
>>90650184

Not all of them, but it's an encompassing term.

Speaking personally, I'm attracted to women just not sexually attracted to them.
So I'd be fine with romantic gestures, just not sex.

I'm not attracted to men in any capacity.

I mean what the fuck does it matter? They're not interested in having sex with anyone and they're life probably wouldn't considerably improve if they did have sex with anyone. It's just stating preferences. Not everything is about scoring brownie points for being special.
>>
Where are the other pages !
>>
>>90650604

Repressed?
It's not a conscious abstinence, I just find the notion of sexual intercourse to be unappealing.

An asexual is defined as someone without sexual attraction, which is me. It doesn't stipulate the asexual must be unable to feel love.
>>
If you don't lack genitals and are not capable of sprouting offspring from yourself without a partner, which is impossible for humans, then by definition you're not asexual.

Please only speak using literal and exact dictionary definitions.
>>
>>90650771

Asexual.
Noun.
"A person who has no sexual feelings or desires."

>>
>>90652841
or maybe you're overthinking it and she doesn't want the D from every single dude she finds attractive and one day she never finds anyone yet she still eventually dies happy and fulfilled.
I honestly don't get why people get so offended by the idea that some people don't want to fuck or at the very least could live their entire lives without fucking and not mind it much. Nigga, it ain't your problem.

this pisses me off to no end, and i hate how bitter i am.
she gets a useless degree, and then is whisked away to a country where she doesn't know the language to try to teach a bunch of young children english
why doesn't she need to know japanese??
>>
>>90677701
Because the classes are bullshit, the english teachers there are basically glorified babysitters. They'll take anyone to be a grade school english teacher.
>>
>>90677701
>why doesn't she need to know japanese??

Because they're basically hiring entertainers for kiddies. The actual teaching's still done by the regular teach.
>>
>>90644761
What are you talking about? Do you not understand how clothing works?
For example in here >>90619667 the breasts are rather realistic, I think
>>
>>90677701

This.

I understand that the Japanese school system isn't the kind that makes people want to fly to the other side of the world specifically for it, but jfc a bad teacher can ruin a child's enjoyment of something for fucking forever. If random people end up teaching, they should at least be passionate about the subject.
>>
>>90677701
Because the Japanese are so desperate to expose their kids to "qualified" English speakers who'd pronounce things better than the Japanese teachers they're willing to import unqualified foreigners to act as "teaching assistants" and just sit in the classroom and say things in native-level English by the planeload.
There's a program you can apply to. If you don't meet the qualifications (degree + native English speaker), tough shit.

I'm sure you could look around to find some sort of low-paid jobs in foreign countries that you could apply to, as well, if you're that bitter about not getting to go abroad.

For the upper grades yes, see the comment in the second strip of >>90645048

Also smaller towns and cities probably don't have the budget to import specialized English teachers.
>>
>>90677701
The fuck do you need to know Japanese for when you're teaching the kids English? Have you taken a foreign language class? How often did the instructor speak English?

Never mind the fact that study abroad programs are a dime a dozen and retard easy to get in to—I mean, if you're not trying to become a Fulbright scholar. Your university's study abroad program will take almost anyone. If you're out of school, you can get into the Peace Corp or the JET program or any number of other similar ventures.

Honestly, your bitterness seems borne out of you being fucking retarded.

The ALTs don't always end up as human tape-recorders. I've heard a some of them are allowed to design power points and lessons, and really collaborate with the Japanese teacher. But it can vary a lot.
>>
>>90678627
>Have you taken a foreign language class? How often did the instructor speak English?

Full immersion is great for people with mid to high knowledge, but for beginners (and kids...) it's terrible not being able to explain something.

> kid doesn't understand concept
> explain it in simpler words
> kid still doesn't get it
> dumb it down to simplest possible language
> STILL doesn't get it
> congratulations, now you effectively have no way to explain it
>>
>>90678752
The regular teach is still present during classes.
>>
>>90678752
In theory the idea is the homeroom teacher should step in at that point and explain in Japanese. After all, the A in ALT stands for ASSISTANT.

In practice this only works for Jr High/Highschool classes, in elementary level 99.9% of teachers either don't know any English or don't give two shits about English class.
>>
>>90678698
Depends on the regions. Some treat you like Mexican bean pickers because the terms of your work visa. Some treat you like a person. Teachers aren't exactly highly regarded to begin with in the land of white rice
>>
>>90678752
Weird how beginning language classes are near-to-full immersion. Well, I'll reach out a bit of an olive branch: every beginning class I've seen or taken was almost fully immersive.

Anyway, the process you've green-texted occurs all the time in English classes full of native speakers, but that's largely besides the point. Even if you spoke Japanese fluently, your explanations of English grammar only work the way you're describing if the students understand Japanese grammar and you're describing a feature common to both languages.

Describe articles in Japanese. Those three words have dozens of rules in English and don't occur in Japanese at all.

But Rome wasn't built in a fucking day. Few concepts are ascertained upon first hearing them.
>>
>>90678834
Anecdotal evidence from all my friends who've taught abroad suggests Asian people are far more deferential to teachers than Americans are.

>Depends on the regions. Some treat you like Mexican bean pickers because the terms of your work visa. Some treat you like a person.
This is true.

>Teachers aren't exactly highly regarded to begin with in the land of white rice
Like teachers in general? If that's what you mean you are so laughably wrong it's I can't even think of a suitable way to accurately describe just how absurdly wrong you are.
ENGLISH teachers? Absolutely.

>you will never give Mary-Sensei the D in a Nejiri Honnyo outfit
>>
I've always wondered why English in anime and Eastern media in general is so impressively shit when there are classes in every school, so this thread is enlightening.
>>
>>90678884
International university students don't speak English well until years of immersion, which suggests the standards for these classes aren't very high, the instruction isn't that robust, the students simply don't get enough exposure to English, or a combination of all of these things (and potentially others).
>>
>>90678834
Hmm, can't say I've heard of a regional factor in how receptive to ALTs the teachers are. My impression is it's more dependant on the individual Japanese teacher, and if they've worked with an ALT before.

Why, have you heard ALTs are more utilised in urban or rural areas, or something?
>>
>>90678884

It's also so most japs can understand it. I remember a voice actress talking about she spoke almost native level english, but unless she voiced her english lines with a clear japanese accent, most people wouldn't understand her.
>>
>>90638320
Is it? he went from teaching English to teaching sex, with a very hands on approach.

>>90678908
Kind of makes sense. English is fucking hard and I can't imagine that everyone treating the classes as compulsory bullshit periods ends up with any better results than, say, the Spanish classes a lot of American high schoolers get, even though the timeframe is longer.
>>
I'm an actually qualified English teacher in Japan who's been here for way longer than I really should have stayed at this "job," currently working in one of the select pilot school for the upcoming (2020-ish) English education overhaul.

The current ALT system is going to be completely unsustainable when the new curriculum standards take effect nationwide. Mostly because elementary kids are going to start actually LEARNING English in real classes instead of getting entertained by a 'foreign talkin' clown' for 45 minutes a week, and oh boy it's going to be a fucking shitshow when Japan realizes this. I almost can't wait.

Well, 5th and 6th grades get English classes multiple times a week and actually learn phonics, writing, and grammar. They pretty much learn what used to be what they'd only start in first year Junior High.
This alone means you either need actually qualified ALTs, or Elementary teachers need to actually learn English. Neither of which the Japanese want to do for various reasons that I could go on all fucking day about and I'm already the third of a way through a fucking bottle of Suntory's Hakushu so it'll get ranty.
Grades 1-4 are getting weekly English lessons instead of monthly, which SOME school districts always did anyway, but the current 5th/6th curriculum is getting bumped down to 3rd/4th and 1st/2nd is getting a more "advanced" curriculum since they'll be getting regular weekly lessons.

>>90679137
It's actually pretty normal for people who are here more than one year and not a direct hire. I've been here like 6 years and counting and have moved to 3 different towns in 2 different prefectures.

>>
>>90679451
OH.
Blame it on the hakushu.

Reason #1 is Japan wants to put on airs to appear like they're "globalized" (to use the buzzwords the government keeps tossing around) for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.

Reason #2 is that Japan thinks the entire world outside Japan, China, and Korea speaks only English, so the government believes it'll help their "globalization" efforts and eventually boost the economy.

Reason #3 is because Japan has the worst English education system in all of Asia, like worse than the third world shitholes in SE Asia. So they want to fix that.

>>
>>90679546
They can't pronounce certain letters because certain sounds don't actually exist in their language, at all. So for example in Japan they have a hard time making the TH sound because it literally doesn't exist in Japanese, they can't say it because they've never learned it outside their shitty English classes which, I guarantee, never even go over it. Japanese kids will legitimately get confused and not understand what "three" means but will recognize "saree."
They also can't discern any difference between L and R because, again, the sound doesn't exist in Japanese. The "ra, ri, ru, re, ro" sounds are actually not R at all though are romanized as R, and actually sound like a combined R and D sound, like a rolled R but done once if you get what I mean.

I have heard of older and/or teacher-trained ALTs getting into JET, so it's not an impossibility. Their selection system is regarded as pretty inscrutable, though a former interviewer I spoke with basically said that, broadly, the main factors were that you came across as passionate, competent, and understood what JET wants from you.

On the other hand, that same ex-interviewer told me that another interviewer he was working with turned down an otherwise good candidate just because he had an annoying nervous laugh. I don't know how common that sort of knee-jerk rejection is, but I gusss it goes to show there can be a fickle element.

Yeah the Japanese government doesn't care.

Japanese politics 101: They'd rather watch the entire fucking country burn than actually fix the core of an issue, especially if it means admitting there's a fault with the current Way of Doing Things.
This extends to just about every issue, not just population and immigration.

Also I honestly can't blame Japan to a degree. Their low crime rate can partially be attributed to their homogeneity.

>>
>>90678982
>English is fucking hard
No it isn't. Really, it isn't.

As a person with a very different mother tongue (and I do mean very different, the whole language is structured completely differently) who started to take English lessons in school at age 9 and have also studied some other languages in school, it's not that hard at all. Or like, maybe it'll get kinda complicated if you advance to the really academic levels, but it's a comparatively low threshold easy access language and it's quite easy to work your way into a somewhat basic ability to communicate.
>>
>>90679783
It's a conservative train of thought but it has some merit
>>
>>90679754
Doesn't seem to be the case for JET. JET says that, basically, they want the ALTs to go home afterwards and promote Japan in their home countries. Although, I've also heard the post-JET career conferences promote jobs in Japan too. Granted, they require one to have good Japanese language skills.

The primary difference between someone who finishes and goes home and someone who finishes and continues to work in-country seems to be if they're actually serious about and capable of (relative) fluency in Japanese. Sure, go for it. The money's allright, and you should (in theory) have co-workers who will help with and work around your lack of Japanese. And even then, I've heard from an ex-JET that there's loads of Japanese language schools around Japan, so you can pick up the language if you're willing to work on it.

It can be pretty luck of the draw if you get good co-workers and students. But even it's not so good, it's just a year and it'll still look good on your resume.

AEON and EEC are big, stable companies. From what I've seen, their salary's not too far off JET's, but the experience depends quite a bit on how friendly the management you get is. Also they're language school and not ALT programmes, so you'll generally be teaching the class yourself and might have adult students.

Also, I would advise against the Interac ALT programme. It's big, but the salary's lower than the language schools I mentioned and they've got reputation for cutting corners on paying or insuring employees.
>>
>>90679754

>>90679844
The current ALT system favors hiring young and inexperienced teachers with little to no concern for actual teaching credentials or qualifications, one of the major reasons for this is so that they can pay them like young and inexperienced teachers with little to no actual teaching credentials or qualifications.

The new curriculum has Elementary students learning English seriously, like actual reading, writing, and grammar. Normally in Jr High you can get by because English is an actual graded subject so there are Japanese teachers who do all the real teaching. This isn't the case for elementary. Most current Elementary teachers have little to no English ability, and are old enough they're not going to be learning it any time soon, and English ability isn't part of current University coursework or teaching license requirements for Elementary Education (though apparently that IS changing, but it'll be too late for when the actual changes take effect).

Thus, in order to even teach the new curriculum successfully schools will need actually qualified and/or experienced English teachers. But hiring actually qualified/experienced teachers means PAYING THEM like actually qualified/experienced teachers, which they are LOATH to do.

So the whole system is basically set up to implode. They either have to find qualified teachers but pay them like qualified teachers, or they have to get brow-beaten by the government while they fail to meet the new standards until all the new Japanese graduates finish school.

>>90679833

Little reality check about this industry here: One thing to remember is that no matter who you work for, be it JET or a dispatch company, you're not getting paid fairly and you are getting taken advantage of. So you're going to want to find someone who is abusing the law the least. JET is your best bet for fair treatment, but you're limited to three years and it's pretty competitive despite their highly incompetent employee base

Interac is actually the least shady of the dispatch companies, which is pretty sickening and telling of how the industry works. Everyone else is downright disgusting in how badly and blatantly they abuse the law to maximize their profits from your efforts and giving you the bare minimum in return.

Also ECC and AEON have a social stigma in that you're considered less of a real teacher than ALTs already are. They're barely considered real jobs.

And yeah, I appreciate it's not a proper career. I'm trying not to go into it with unrealistic expectations. But on a more positive note, it's worth noting that JET at least is big on promoting work opportunities post-ALT, both in your home country and in Japan. >Tell more. Horror stories are amazing.
Nova and Gaba have both been sued dozens of times by employees for failure to pay proper wages and for blatantly illegal abuses of teacher contract conditions. There's an ongoing lawsuit against Nova right now for not paying teachers in Hokkaido and northern Honshu for something like three months then just firing them out of the blue one day with no warning because they lost almost all their contracts up there, essentially leaving them all stranded and homeless.
Heart pays hourly instead of a monthly contracted salary, which allows them to abuse heavily what counts as "working hours" so they can pay the bare minimum. They're notorious for only counting actual classroom time as "working hours" so any preparation periods, time BETWEEN classes, or just periods in the day you don't have a class is all time you're NOT getting paid for, even though you're at work and still "working."

The worst thing Interac did was skirt the 30 hour/week law for employee benefits by saying you only work 29.5 hours, then skirting the new law that says any company in Japan with more than 1000 employees has to pay benefits by breaking the branches up into "independent companies under the Interac umbrella," which conveniently puts them all at less than 500 employees per "sub company." A law which Nova and Gaba skirted by saying contracted teachers are "outsourced specialists" and not actual employees of the company.

The major advantages of Interac is their main offices are pretty hands-off when it comes to your daily work. You deal with the school you work at far more than you ever deal with the branch offices. Also because it's a monthly salary it's pretty easy to cheat Interac (and not feel bad since they're cheating you anyway) by showing up and leaving when your school says it's cool to and not giving a shit about what Interac's contract says. According to Interac I should have been working from 8 to 5 daily, but in reality from the day I started working for them to the day I left I was only working from 8:30 to 3:30, 8:30 to 2:30 on the days when the schools didn't have 6th period (which is at least once a week in most schools), and your pay is only cut during the Winter and Summer holidays, both time periods where any other company isn't paying you AT ALL, they don't penalize you for school or national holidays, while every other company will.

My biggest problem with Interac was the roundabout lack of support when it came to communicating school requests.

Our schools were expected to make all requests through Interac rather than directly, meaning I'd sometimes get requests for lesson plans with as little notice as the night before I'd be going to a school. These were all high-performing high schools as well, so you can't fabricate some bullshit activity like you can a grade-school class.

Eventually I just started collaborating with the Japanese teachers directly, and found out they had been sending in their lesson requests WEEKS in advance. I know most of my cohort was teaching younger grades, so I' not sure if it was just a lack of support for high school teachers, but I found the Interac program very convoluted and unhelpful.

Though the fact you actually figured that out means you're above and beyond the ability of the average ALT, I've seen English teachers work under Interac for years and never manage to figure that out.

Hell the less contact you have with your branch offices the better, because that means you can get away with shit like not telling them you're going home after lunch because it turns out there was a half day that day.

Japanese crime rate is only 'non-existent' because the majority of crimes are ignored or not pursued by the police. There's extremely rampant corruption in the police.

And Japan will have more of an issue with the fact that they have an aging and untrained populace to handle moving forward as industries change. They lack skilled professionals especially in the software and tech industry.
>>
>>90680404
Haven't researched it and I might be wrong, but in my understanding it's just in general it takes a lot of money and even more effort to have kids, and it pretty much requires one parent to drop off from work and be a stay-at-home parent, or for the family to have so much money they can hire a nanny. So for the entire family to rely on the salary of one breadwinner is a big, frightening step, and also a lot of women maybe don't want to become just housewives. Also the corporate climate is such that workers who want to leave early every day to pick up the kids from daycare/school aren't really appreciated, because if you do work you're expected to put in long hours.

So if they'd just revamp their kindergarten / schooling system to demand less from the parents and hold the kids till the parent can pick them up, and also start seeing "I need to pick up the kids" as a valid reason to leave work at a reasonable hour, there'd probably be more kids. As it is currently, I understand it's a choice of becoming a housewife whose life revolves around the kids and who's completely dependent on the working spouse, or having your own job and career and identity for the women. It's a hard choice. If people would feel that they can choose both, I'm sure there'd be more kids.

Again, I may be wrong so anyone with a better understanding of the subject feel free to correct my assumptions

You're pretty much spot on.

It's like the baby boomer problem in the US, you've got a whole generation in charge of everything who can't wrap their head around the concept that the world is a completely different place than what it was when they were young, so their old values and ways serve only to make life for the current young a hell of endless frustration.

>Get people jobs that earn enough to make a living in general would be prudent.
Poverty and under-employment isn't as big an issue in Japan as it is in, say, the states.
The problem is that the cost of raising a child in Japan is more than most couples can afford going from a dual income to a single income, even if they can afford to comfortably live a middle class lifestyle without children.
>>
>>90680620
That's been by experience too. Japanese software development is so far behind literally everyone else that it's scary.

There's a couple of small pockets of developers that actually know what they're doing but they're rare as hell. Simply put the Japanese model of how a business is run is incompatible with good software development.
>>
>>90680682
I would love to know what software the anime and Japanese video game industry use that's not stuff like Autodesk Maya or Unreal Engine 4.

Dudes, the Japanese corporate sector still relies on fucking 3.5 inch floppies and fax machines. Like that's regular office equipment over here. The idea of a "paperless office" is so completely alien most office workers can't even comprehend how that even works.
>>
>>90680639
>So the stuff feminism should be fighting for.

Feminists already address all this - there were several forums for IWD about women in japan. The problem is that most policy makers are, well, japanese older men, which means that a lot of stuff gets done at crawling speed.
>>
>>90680718
>which means that a lot of stuff gets done at crawling speed.
That's giving them way too much credit.

The same thing about social security being fucked everywhere. social security systems assume the younger generation will be larger than the previous one, so you tax them to pay for the elderly, and in turn will be supported by their younger generation. Whole thing starts to fall apart if the next generation is smaller and smaller. Doesn't help that the Japanese are practically immortal.

Worse yet Japanese social security is compulsory to register for but there's no legal repercussions for not paying into it, so most people don't bother paying it.

>Haven't researched it and I might be wrong, but in my understanding it's just in general it takes a lot of money and even more effort to have kids

Education's expensive as good schools take good grades to get into and the only way to get those is to take supplementary lessons. Those cost money. That's on top of the uniforms and all the other gear that's mandatory and has to be paid out of the parent's own pocket and individualized to certain specifications.

Also from kindergarden on, educational institutions demand a lot from mothers. They will set and control certain standards of good parenting on you and heckle you if they feel that you aren't fulfilling them. Bentos basically are used as an indicator to how awful/great you are as a mum by the school, to name something, but there are other mechanisms that kindergardens and schools use to enforce standard behaviour patterns on mothers and their kids.

Having kids is basically very intrusive and more or less a direct axis of attack the state apparatus employs to regulate people's behaviour well into their homes and privates lifes.

>>90680679
>Poverty and under-employment isn't as big an issue in Japan as it is in, say, the states.

The number of working poor and part-time employment has been steadily rising, Anon, single incomes haven't kept up with living costs either and the monetary reserves families relied on in the past have been devaluated. The Japanese are getting noticably poorer.

Yeah.
The key to the population having kids is making having kids possible without completely sacrificing yourself. For example, these days people aren't as willing to suffer in a horrible relationship just because it's what one's supposed to do, divorces are on the rise and so forth.

So if having kids means that you'll become completely dependent on your spouse, and should they decide to leave you you're screwed because going back to work with a years-long no-employment phase in your CV is hard, or because being a single parent who'd both work and have a child is practically impossible unless your wages are high enough to afford a live-in nanny, people won't have as many kids. If you want people to breed, in essence you have to build up a system where women with mediocre jobs can afford to be single parents and manage to have both the kid and their jobs, should things go to hell in the marriage. If you make it a choice between having a child and having independence, agency, income and a career, way less people will choose to have kids because it'll be such a huge sacrifice and a frightening risk.

Yeah. So having kids demands a lot of money, and at the same time essentially requires 50% of the employed money-earning workforce in the family unit to stop earning money, lest you're branded as a shit parent and a failure as a human being.

>there are other mechanisms that kindergardens and schools use to enforce standard behaviour patterns

>This is super interesting, please elaborate

Been years since I read about it. Anne Allison wrote about it in "Permitted and Prohibited Desires: Mothers, Comics, and Censorship in Japan". The lady was crazy enough to raise kids in Japan, so she got first-hand experience to write about. Her "Precarious Japan" deals with the current economic situation. It's worth a read as well, IMO.

I'd probably be an alright English teacher.

I hate anime and only focus on mainly western vidya as a hobby, but don't bring that shit up in conversation.

All I gotta do now is learn English, despite it being my 1st language.

I don't know a damn thing about Grammar. I even passed high honors English, but only because the teacher was crooked and passed shit by looking at the first page of papers and nothing else.
>>
>>90688295
The best English teachers would probably be ESL's who became fluent.
After all they had to actually consciously learn the language instead of just kinda picking it up the way you do with your mother tongue.
>>
>>90688387

I mean, I'm ESL but I also kinda picked it up, mostly though videogames and later tabletop roleplaying games and the like. If I had to learn English with the shit they taught me in highschool, hoo boy.

That said, teaching second languages is a serious pain in the ass to do well. It's easily my least favorite subject to teach.
