If someone showed you a cartoon of NYC in the 20's and another cartoon of NYC in the 80s and one set now it would be very obvious that it was NYC because there are several cultural, architectural, and geographical aspects that are intrinsically NYC and will always be NYC. It's the same thing for Seattle for anyone who has lived here. Things have changed in the city very the past 10 years, but to imply and argue that it somehow magically changed from resembling NYC to what it is now you clearly have your head up your ass. That's like having a cartoon be exactly like Los Angeles and then say that it's actually Chicago and imply that Chicago could have been basically Los Angeles 20-30 years ago. That's just stupid.

I feel like Transformers Animated and Motorcity really failed at communicating they're actually set in Michigan outside of a few scattered visual references to Detroit every now and then. The Hulk cartoon from the 90s was able to convey just as much in a single episode (that one where Thor and Hulk team up to fight Gargoyle in the salt mines) as they did throughout an entire series.

Don't know about Loud House though. I don't watch it very much. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's also pretty low on the Michiganisms.
