Is he the blandest MC? Or is there a character out there that out blands him?

Is bland necessarily a bad thing? Growing (6-9) up during premier episodes of Doug was the closest thing I'll have to life lessons on how to be Canadian.
Someone post the Tree of Doug image.
I think Arthur comes pretty close if not equal.

Not bad at all. In fact, I really like Doug.
But I also realize that he isn't the most...interesting character out there.

They are pretty close in blandness, huh?
>>90590536
Yeah, sometimes its even used as a gag; especially by D.W. and Francine.

his imagination isnt so bland. that's what made him stand out

Arthur was at least willing to smack a bitch when she touches something she shouldn't.
he doug deep in my butt and he was a skeeter.

Nah all those characters had more personality except Lloyd, Ginger, and the AGU cast, charlie as proto-doug is alright but even then Charlie is smarter than Doug. Fillmore was bitter but had a past as a delinquent and sought redemption. TJ was smart and sassy, Pepper Ann was more of a loser but actually had good friends who weren't one off jokes, Arthur is just a regular kid who makes mistakes but actually emotes a lot more. Arnold is exhausted and is embedded in reality with an optimistic lens.

What about Pelswick?

>the AGU cast
It's amazing how much personality was lost in the 10 years between the original show and AGU

How the fuck can you compare TJ or Fillmore to Doug?
Tintin. Capable hero but bland. Snowy helped him a bit but the series took over when the secondary characters came.
