It all started with Brubaker.
He was the one who made Hank gravitate towards the Avengers again with SecretAv and had him travel the world alone to find a cure for the post M-day situation in the Endangered Species arc, where the X-men technically disbanded and left Westchester, growing a disdain for Scott's more ruthless grip and his leaving Xavier behind.
Then came Fraction who wrote him as a whiny bitch and antagonistic to Scott -still sarcastic, smart and legitimately involved with trying to find a cure, but the damage was done during the establishing Utopia arc against Osborn's X-men and solidified during Nightcrawler's funeral was irreparable and left a bad taste in many fans' mouths.
Gillen then (who wrote a great Hank in S.W.O.R.D.) had him genuinely hating Scott's guts so when Aaron eventually snatched him for the WatXm book at the school, he had him say something like "I'm joining Logan's school as an additional fuck you to Scott" in the Schism one-shot. Note that at this point X-force's existence and Cyclops sanctioning it was made public which created a huge rift among the X-men, including those who still remained at Utopia, since some believed it went against everything the X-men should've stood for.
Aaron also barely did anything with him except having him as the YAY SCIENCE! character, so even more wacky and unrelatable -and maybe mentor Broo.

AFTER all this, Bendis came on board and wrote Beast as a huge tool with no real motivation who brought the O5 to the present just to fuck with Scott. What he meant with "they had to stop mutant genocide" or what was up with his mutation not being stable anymore aside from him wanting Ape!Beast again instead of Cat!Beast was literally never explained. Bendis did nothing with the character except having people constantly shitting on him, having him being scorned by the Watcher, realize he fucked up when he got cosmic powers in the Black Vortex crossover and then writing the series finale as "let's shit on Beast"

Carey-written "Endangered Species", Beast travels the world solo after M-day. At this point Scott has already taken over the X-men and told Xavier he's not welcome anymore because of the Vulcan stuff

"Messiah CompleX" and its unpleasantness (Xavier """died""" at the end), followed by Divided We Stand where there's no X-men anymore

X-men reform and move to San Francisco, but since Osborn is backing up the Murant Registration Act 2.0 and also wants Scott to disband the team and put them to government work, Scott creates a huge keikaku to make a "sovereign" mutant nation on an island called Utopia in SanFran's bay. During this arc, Osborn and Age of Apocalypse's Dark Beast capture 616Beast and repeatedly torture him. Hank doesn't fully back up the idea behind Utopia since it sounds too militaristic.

Bru makes him a member of Secret Avengers, distances himself further from Cyclops and his vision of the X-men
"Second Coming" crossover, Scott confesses he told Wolverine to recreate a killer squad, Nightcrawler dies and Hank blames Cyclops for it, also it's clear that his plan is to 100% back up Hope as the new Phoenix Messiah that will reignite the mutant race, which Hank doesn't see to, but decides to stay at Utopia as a scientist and a medic

"Schism", Hank leaves Utopia for good to join Sniktbub's reopened school in Westchester and is vice-headmaster there

Sides with the Avengers during the whole "Avengers vs X-men" event
Brings back the young original 5 X-men from the past to the present at the start of All-New X-men because Scott is now an outlaw openly talking about a "mutant revolution" and Hank sees this as the most dangerous thing.
Please note that during all this, the events in the stories always portrayed Scott as doing the right thing in the end.

Personally, I'm done, so much, with the Xmen.

Then, one day there was M Day, and nearly all of them died.Then , flash forward a decade and they're still dying, even after the Phoenix made mutants being reborn possible, then Mutants are dying even harder from some Inhuman Gases (insert lame fart joke).Wolverine's dead, X23 has taken over his mantle,the Time Traveling Original 5 Xmen who got taken from the past also exist in the same timeline where the original 5 Xmen exist, Kurt has died, then decided to come back from the dead, because why not? Then also, another reality hopping Wolverine exists- another, older Wolverine, who nobody likes and just goes around alone.Also, the entire multiverse ended- just- ENDED, and was reborn, and Reed Richards recreated the universe as it is with a Inhuman Fart Cloud threatening to murder the minute amount of mutants left- and the Mutants are still dying, everyone's doing horrible things, and now the Inhumans and the Xmen are gonna kill each other and Cyclops was right, so right he went right to the grave, and died some time ago, and the twist is Emma was covertly acting as Cyclops to elevate him to savior status, all according to plan.

Man, fuck Xmen comics.

You're wrong though. Beast had already left Utopia before Second Coming. He RETURNED for Nightcrawler's funeral and then shortly after they got attacked so he stuck around to help as that was happening. By the time Schism happened, Beast had already been long gone. He had his falling out with Scott where he gave him the finger and quit the X-men before ever joining the Secret Avengers.
