It's definitely worth checking out. The first few episodes are kind of eh, but it gets better as it goes on. Most of the first season is just silly adventures and goofing off, but it does drop several hints and start building up for later on in the series. Season 2 on the other hand is when a story really starts to form, and is when a lot of stuff from the first season is fleshed out and expanded on. It still has silly adventures, but there's also a lot of drama and tension, and the finale itself will hit you like a truck. Season 3's looking like it will be much more serious and story focused, but we don't know for sure. Still, I think you'll like it if you really give it a try.

You should. It has a good friendship dynamic between the main characters, pretty good humor, and some strong character development, continuity, and lore later on.

First half of Season 1 is pretty episodic. Keep watching and a plot begins that leads to the plot of the entire next season.

The first half of the first season was partly influenced by two executives who left after that and no longer have anything to do with the show, so keep that in mind if it doesn't grab you right away. The first episode is not the standard for the series as a whole.

Starbrurary. Specifically right after "Running With Scissors" aired, some anon crossposted Hekapoo and I thought her design was cool, then another anon posted the webm of "Bon Bon" and I was impressed enough to pick the show up.

Star and Marco's dynamic carried the show from the beginning. "Mewnipdendence Day" proved it had real potential and was ready to use it. They've made an interesting setting and presented it well without drowning out the main story, and they've demonstrated they can do great character progression without trying to force it on everyone. Focus is a big part of why I think the show is good, they know where the story is going and how to present it. On a related note, they are excellent at teasing future plot threads without drowning the show in continuity (we do that ourselves).

1 and 3: From the beginning. Well, not the very first threads mentioning it years before it premiered, but from a couple weeks before, at latest. Pic is from Jan. 10th, 2015.
2. The characters have always always always been the strongest point. Particularly Star and Marco's dynamic - I'd seen from very early on Daron Nefcy's comics about herself and her husband where they look and act very much like Star and Marco, and I found that very cute and very suspicious.
I wasn't all that into it for most of the first season - it was okay, but it felt like there wasn't much thought being put into it beyond the needs of each individual episode. Boy was I wrong, though, and Storm the Castle convinced me once and for all.

The Avarius clan is/was monster nobility, and the lore book suggests they were enemies of Toffee's clan. They might have even sided with the Butterflies in the last Mewman/Monster war.
It's a little different for her to be aiding Buff Frog, part of a group who was trying to steal from the Royal Family's personal corn fields, or for her to have developed a positive reputation in some monster communities.

Moon might be "progressive"/proper enough to be polite and diplomatic with monsters, but River hunts them down for sport.
Either way it doesn't look good, considering the concern they've already shown from her being compared to Eclipsa just in potential, and the threat of a new war with Toffee on the horizon.
