Disney bought Marvel and Star Wars because they were incapable of producing a franchise that boys would embrace. Aside from Kamala, She-Hulk, and Wasp I don't see Marvel mainstream heroines being that appealing to little girl.

Not counting the X-Men most of them are either assassins or bland spy Shield Agent types.

Oh and ultra manly Carol but that dyke haircut turns off a lot of girls.

I guess if Marvel pushed Sif, Songbird or more colorful heroines with unique powers or ones who have a regal or princess look then maybe it would appeal to them more but Disney is more into making Marvel market to boys.

It's because her costume is boring. Kids want an exciting costume with lots of colors and accessories. A Black Widow costume is just a black jumpsuit with some weird bracelets. At least you get to have a bow and some arrows with a Hawkeye costume.
