ITT: Your favorite cartoon has been turned into a shonen anime. How does this affect your enjoyment of the show?
Oh, boy, I would love Bishojo adaptation.
It's even better, since that would make Lexington even cuter
The creators said that they modeled the art style, humor and expressive anime stuff from FLCL specifically.
Based Condorito. Arguable the most based comic-strip ever.
Mine is south park so that'd probably be like an extended episode of LETS FIGHTING LOOOOVE so it'd probably get boring eventually unless it was still cut with clips of them in reality too.
>It's worse. So much fucking worse.
What do you mean? I think (almost) nothing would change
>More over the top robot action
The only downside is the humor might suffer
But Peggy's not meant to be attractive, she'd look more like Kokoro
It happens, anon.
Boku No Harvey is clearly Shoujo
Jake in fanart is always lame, he either looks exactly like he does in the show no matter the artstyle so he looks hilariously out of place or turns into some garbage like in OP. Poor pup.
Peggy can be mildly attractive, ie the episode where she dressed up like a hooker.
Besides, this is a shonen anime. They'd naturally take liberties and try to make the main character's love interest less wife and more waifu.
It would, a lot, all the fights would be 1v1, no more colaboration to take down foes, each Titan would fight one enemy while Robin faces alone strongest foe.
Now for some reason Robin has an ancient vampire dragon bat sleeping inside of him. He can access to part of its power by having monologues inside his mind. The Dragon Vampire Bat would start by saying "I'll devore you" Robin would shout a couple of phrases and the dragon vampire bat would say "Interesting, Ill lend you a bit of my power".
The number of porn about the series wouldn't change, but the quality would skyrocket, because lets deal with eat japan porn artists >>>>> western porn artists
>no the story arch wouldn't be as nice, there'd be more shitty filler and annoying characters.
A show that was literally made to imitate Anime because it was cheaper to make cartoons more anime like than to import the real thing would hardly change.
People on this thread really are talking out of their asses.
To be fair filler exists because they are adapting current manga chapters
Dubbing an anime will always be cheaper than making a high quality cartoon from scratch
Weird SoL series where the three main characters have to deal with whatever strange situation they've gotten into that day.
So the same except everyone's cuter.
half of that is garbage, and none of it matters, because OP asked 'how does it affect your enjoyment of the show?' and not 'how does it affect the structure of the show?'
I suspect you didn't get it.
And not in a Neon Genesis too-deep-for-you kinda way, just that FLCL goes so fast it usually takes an average of 3 watch thoughs before you understand the story.
Rick and Morty as an anime.
Rick of course abuses the fuck out of this new setting while Morty achieves a harem... which Rick promptly ruins.
Or Rick uses Morty as a human shield who despite taking hits that kill someone, Morty doesnt die because of main character powers.
>Adventure time as a shonen anime
It is no longer my favorite anything.
I don't even watch shonen anime.
NGE is good, but gets praised for the wrong reasons a lot.
Yes it is deep and meaningfully, but in the same way that Smash Bros Melee is a good fighting game. That is, they threw a bunch of shit together and it ended up working out well.
Nearly every action cartoon would be drastically improved by becoming shonen anime because it'd allow a lot more violence that is pretty necessary in canon to be shown, more time for character development and back stories/origins since writers wouldn't be worried about solely appealing to ADHD riddled retarded American kids who can't fucking pay attention to anything for more than 10 minutes and are too stupid to retain any memory of actual lore, better animation and better enemies since they'd be forced to stretch them across an arc of episodes instead of monster of the week tier stuff and it allows room for edgier/more adult/darker themes to be explored without writers just getting to dip their toes in and hop back out before parents or censors start whining, BTAS and Teen Titans for example are cartoons that could've greatly benefited from that.
Anyways, my favourite cartoon is either the HBO Spawn series or Batman Beyond. There wouldn't have been much of a difference with Spawn, except it might've had more episodes, Batman Beyond would've been improved in all the ways I've said. So no for Spawn as I would've enjoyed it all the same but Batman Beyond I would've probably liked more.
>NGE gets too much credit
It really only gets over-hyped because it's a refresher.
When you're 14-15 and all you've grown up watching is western cartoons and shonen where all the characters are inhumanly brave and strong it's really something else to see a character like Shinji who's a lot like you and reacts how most normal teens would in that situation, without the series being completely inaccessible and with still being in the same vein thematically of those shows. I still love it but people really do overhype it.
I'd take it. I'd kill for some DBZ-style battles with this series.
Shonen anime is fucking terrible so I guess it ruins it?
>2 minute intro
>2-3 minute recap of the last episode
>episode is filled with scenery panning and reacting faces that last 10-20 seconds
>2 minute outro
>30 second random thing shat onto the end
>30 second clip of the next episode
There are very few shonen anime that aren't pure cancer thanks to this stupid set up.
No, literally the only thing about Teen Titans that would change if it were an anime is that the fighters could be more violent.
Also funny how you say it'd be a Naruto ripoff when Naruto itself included collaborative fights. Like, a lot of them.
