Eobard's been called Zoom, Professor Zoom and the Reverse-Flash back in his very first appearance.

Usually he's just called "Zoom" for short. At some point, the writers fucked up, and had him and Barry referring to him as "Professor Adrian Zoom" for multiple issues in the Bronze Age (Iris's "death" and some after that).

Hunter Zolomon kinda stumped everyone, since he was just Zoom (wasn't a Professor), and was rarely referred to as the Reverse-Flash (his first Blitz arc, and the time Cheetah helped him), making people think that he was the only Zoom, while Eobard was the RF.

Really, Eobard and Hunter are both Zooms and RFs. Hunter just wasn't a professor (though he could have become one, what's with being a doctor in... something).

Zolomon has it in his mind that Wally is not as good as Barry because Wally wasn't nearly as willing to time travel to fix things. That's what caused his spiral into madness.

This is a world where Barry's right the fuck there. The entire straw house of Zolomon's motive crumbles in this setup. Wally's basically a rookie hero again with no family and nothing to prove.
