I don't think a non-native Superman works in the long run. You need Superman to have had all the adventures with the modern heroes, be Supergirl's cousin, have dated Lana, was friends with the LoSH, influenced Dick enough for him to take up the Nightwing name, etc. Whenever they've gone away from any of these aspects they always come back in the end because that's what people want.

But personally I've been saying all along I would have just had new 52 Clark and Lois elope and no double version bullshit. I don't think Superbro by the time of his death was dramatically different from Superdad anyway. It was just the very early stuff mirroring Golden Age that was different.

What you're supposed to take from the issue is mainly in this page >>90530251. That the Clarks and Loises are probably all the same people and things like history will shift a little to fix that. And it's doubling down on the idea that the emotion behind the new 52 versions of stuff won't be wholly erased even though it's changed. They'll have still been friends with her because it's important to keep in some form.

It's not REALLY a deep sentiment but just an overall statement that everything will be ok and probably meant to bridge things so that Superwoman readers comprehend the gist of what's going on without having to read the official crossover where shit (probably) gets merged.

Now what we assume is that it's hinting the doubles are the same people and will combine with the red energy being mentioned as a hint towards a Superman Red/Blue type of resolution. But we won't know for sure for another couple of weeks.

1) Currently nothing has actually changed as far as continuity is concerned. New 52 Superman was the guy all the heroes were friends with and he recently died. The page is saying that their histories WILL change to accommodate things but the important relationships won't be diminished. Nothing has yet occurred though.

2) I don't think we can draw that kind of conclusion yet. Just not enough information. My personal guess is that it's something that probably happened when Superdad and that Lois were plucked out of reality, but Convergence was bad enough that if they write it out I wouldn't mind.
