Coming To America Part One.
Time for High Chinks in the West!
I don't know if it's because of the new colorist but Bogdanovic's art is looking way better. Gives it more depth.
This is the girl from The Flash right?
Are these actual characters? I know China White is
Remember to support the Official Release!
Yeah. You know that mob boss who kept himself immortal with the Cauldron? He was one of his body guards along with a dude with robot eyes.
He got some good hits in against the Nebula Man until he was disintegrated because, you know, he tried fighting the Nebula Man.
>Kenan is drafted into a Journey to the West kind of team
>he thinks he's going to be Sun Wukong. He is so pumped for that
>except there's all ready a monkey guy. And a priest fellow. And a fish dude
>he's the Pig
Supes and Kenan met at the end of the Multiplicity arc. Even got food together.
Oh hey it's Avery.
My only weaknesses.
Yes. She was the young speedster Barry helped learn to focus
in her bedroomI think. Also think she was one of the few speedsters that got to keep her Speed Force storm powers. Though Barry thinks they're gone.
lookup when Metropolis was infected with the B-13 virus
That brings me back, with Metropolis literally being the city of tomorrow, Gotham being rebuilt prettier after No Man's Land (And Wayne Manor being a fucking castle) and Paradise Island going full magitech with floating islands and being semi-open to the public.
How long did those things last?
This book has me convinced it was all editorial faggotry that made Yang's Superman run fucking suck. I hope they give him more work, dude is fucking great.
I'm picking up some Kon vibes here. I totally wouldn't mind Kenan taking over Kon's spot in the Super-family.
Crossover bullshit has always been the weakness of the Superbooks. Yang was good with Superbro during the fight club arc when he was allowed to just have fun with things. An arc or two freely written might have gotten as crazy as this.
>Fucking your sister
That's a dirty nip fetish, we Chinese have standards
iirc new inker, and new colorist.
there was some confusion on how to handle colors originally. conflicting input from artist, and editor, and artist conflicting with themselves.
never a point settled into.
That guy is probably the source, we've had people who work on the book post stuff here in the storytimes before. Like details on the character names and such.
Shit happens though. Hopefully everyone can be comfortable now.
its interesting. The book uses Chinese culture in an interesting way and its uniquely incorporated into the story and the Superman Mythos. Also unlike Hollywood, Comics don't make money from China, so theres no China Pandering where the Chinese government is portrayed as prefect and can do no wrong.
Its just something different than the usual super hero stuff and the story and characters are well written
He is, he is still just as arrogant, prideful, egotistical, short sighted and hung up on Superman as ever though. Its one of the reasons why he works as a good guy in my opinion and still leaves the door opened for the inevitable pivot back to evil. I am kind of hoping this Lex dies a good guy and pre FP Lex comes back someone and picks up the villain role.
I'd like 40, but it seems too unrealistic. I will hope for 20 and maybe I'll be surprised.
The fact that they have like 200k of Batman each month should help the lower selling titles like this last longer, but I just don't know. Lots of other passion projects going like the HB books and Young Animal. How much can they really support?
You're right to ask that. YA is a separate imprint, but the HB books just have DC logos on them and when they get talked about seem to be treated more as a separate editorial group than as an imprint. They'll still have lower sales expectations but I imagine DC has to budget for paying the creative teams and such.
Mostly just meant that there's going to be some limit before they have to start cancelling Rebirth books though. Hopefully this is like Batwing where it goes longer than anyone should expect, but we'll see.
Yang sells well for about a month or two on the NYT Bestsellers list, when he releases a new book.
But I don't know if the Indie fags will support this book though.
>ever forgetting that status quo cleanup bullshit
I'd like for I-Ching to pull the same unreliable narrator bit like in this issue
Except when they're alone he honestly tells Diana that he thinks Kenan shows a lot of heart and promise
So when this inevitable gets canned because nobody is buying it, think we'll keep seeing more of Kenan in the future? I worry anyone but Yang writing him will just end up shit.
I hadn't been buying this but reading the storytimes, but I feel bad so I'm adding it to my pull list
I wonder, is he speaking perfect Mandarin and humble-bragging?
Or deliberately speaking poor Mandarin to come off as charming and harmless...or actually did just not give enough of a fuck to learn the language perfectly like you know he could.
What the hell is the point of this retarded comic? A fucking chinese Superman? And the kid is a fucking asshole in the very first issue. Seriously why kill off Superbro and then just have a random ass chinese Superman? They could have just had Superbro have his own comic instead of murdering him. Then we could have Wonder Woman x Supes and Lois x Supes at the same time except now nope they wanna fuck that up too so now we are gonna get some fucking mutant hybrid Superman, whats next Superman does fusion with Val-zod and hes now half black forever? And whats next Wonderwoman ends up with Steve 'i'm a cuck' Trevor or it could be even worse and she will get blacked.
This is a shitpost, but I don't mind replying.
Superbro was done with WW. You need to let it go. Superwoman today confirmed that he and Lois are OTP forever and ever in every version.
This particular Lex, yeah.
If I recall correctly, the last we saw of Superdad's--Post-Crisis--Lex was when he obtained deific power, but blew himself up in a fit of petty cosmic rage when he realized he couldn't use it to kill Superman.
He can come back.
