What kind of leap is that? Even Amber assuming Mike has been nice is not based on much. Unless this has happened before, although then the final panel should be her saying how bad an idea it is.

Amber really does come across as a fujoshi whose first reaction to gay people is to fetishize them and think about sex, but it hasn't really been treated as an issue. It's totally fine for her to write gay fanfic, and find people hot, but the way all her convos with her best friend Ethan go to "are you fucking a guy, yet" is worrisome.

I dunno. See, I get the sense that Willis actually likes Mike as a character and doesn't want people to outright despise him the way they do, whereas he's kinda hated Mary ever since he put her together as a character.

Also, Mike's asshole antics are generally for the sake of comedy or subtly helping characters develop/the plot unfold, while Mary is Willy's vehicle for what he sees the average bigot as, i.e. driven by the sole and utter purpose to make snowflakes feel bad.

Where is this Amber story gonna go I wonder. Just more "I'm a weak piece of shit! Woo is me!" Pity arch? While Danny tries to get back in her good graces even though he never did anything wrong?

I don't blame anybody for not starting any threads for new strips. This is all so boring.

What's even happened? Amber and Ethan are talking. What's the point of them talking? What led the two to start talking? If Amber has public anxiety issues or whatever, then why not show things from her perspective first before having her scoot over to Ethan? Why are they spending their time talking about Mike? What even led them to talk about Mike in the first place? If Ethan wants to fuck Mike, he should do it. Or is the next strip going to talk about not wanting to fuck Mike because he wants to fuck Danny? Why is Ethan's personality seemingly defined by the men he wants to fuck?

This is all an example of failing the Bechdel Test, you know.
