2% of the world's population is redhead. Note that is counting non-white folks who tend not to have the redhead gene at all. The percentage is 10% in Ireland, 13% in Scotland. Among white Americans I'd guess its about half to a third of that but probably double that global non-white average, say 4%. Just a guess, not trying to make up numbers, but its obviously higher than the global number while lower than Scotland.

Thats higher than the global estimated *gay* population at ~3.8% which includes gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgender. Trans just by themselves are only 0.3% of the population. And this was a western study in a safe environment, its unlikely anyone wasn't admitting to identifying as trans out of fear of reprisal, if anything there was probably an increase of people in the study identifying, "i'm bisexual but i've never had a same-sex partner and i'll almost surely never act upon it, but it sounds more hip and thats what i tell me cool friends"

4% redheads, 0.3% transgender. I don't blame you for getting the numbers wrong because our culture's progressive push tends to skew to scale of the issue, but at least attempt to educate yourself before opening your piehole.

Bonus points: plenty of redheads are bottle red, its a popular fashion choice. Real/fake redheads is probably pushing towards 10% of the population. Again, a guess, but think of how many natural reds you know vs bottle reds.

Bonus2: x-comics skew red simnly due to the popularity of Jean Grey and her time-and-space-displaced offspring. Elric doesn't overrepresent albinos when the story is about an albino.
