It's very likely she does betray them now, but spending some time on earth (and Navy being the soft and kind Ruby in general) probably left a big impact on her making her eventually convince the others to help save the earth. I honestly can't tell if it's just me, but I feel like the earlier episodes had overall more faded colors and more frequent use of light/shadow. The colors feel more saturated now and while they still use light/shadow, it feels much less frequent than earlier on.

I think the writers let Lapis stay because of the retarded Lapis fanboys.
I was convinced she was some royalty (before the diamonds where shown) like some god like ruler of gems.

She hated the CG and it would be a interesting dynamic with Lapis returning with her army and having a love hate relationship to the CG.
On the one hand the CG damaged her and used her in a mirror.
On the other hand Steven cured her and helped her.

Make a interesting villain.
However Lapis fanboys needed to have their waifu on the CG immediately.
So the trainwreck is what we got.
The writers literally have no idea what to do with a god level gem who can solo the CG no problem while being damaged.
This is why they keep her out of action(example the zoo).

I honestly had more love for the show back when the Cluster Arc was going on (Steven's Birthday and In Too Deep). In fact, everything from Season 1 up to Hit the Diamond was fine.

Afterwards, the show began to somewhat decline in quality. It wasn't until Gem Harvest when I began to just accept that this show wasn't like what it was before.

I didn't want to admit it, because I truly love the show, but the show's flaws are starting to show through more and more. With stuff like how the characters are constantly off model, the extreme focus on LGBT-related shit, and no movement of the plot.

Not that it's a terrible show, in fact it still has tons of potential. But the staff needs to do some evaluation of the show and fix these problems before they ruin it.

Please let this happen soon, I don't want this show ruined...
