As someone who's never cared for either the comics or the movies, he's easily my favorite part of the entire x-men universe. I know he's not a 100% faithful adaptation from the comics of who Wolverine is, but I think he did an excellent job regardless, ESPECIALLY in Logan.

On the other hand, Jackman did a great job with the character. No, it wasn't exactly Wolverine from the comics, but it was an excellent interpretation. Since I assume there will be some sort of major reboot of the X-Men franchise eventually, I suppose someone else will have a shot at playing Wolverine -- and I feel pretty sorry for whoever tries to do it.

I'm gonna miss him. I watched Logan today and I almost teared up at the end of the movie, not only because of the last scene itself, but also because it felt like it was his final goodbye after 17 of playing Wolverine.

Most of the differences about personality depend on the different circumstances he finds himself in. Comic Wolverine has existed for over 40 years and he's appeared in hundreds or maybe thousands of comic books, which fleshed out his personality in countless ways. Just take a look at the difference between X-Force Wolverine and the Avengers one.
On the other hand we've barely had 7 different settings and storylines featuring Wolverine in the movies, 4 of which didn't even have Logan as the main focus, except maybe for X-Men 2.
In other words, if movie and comic Wolverine switched places they wouldn't be so different, height and suit aside.
Taking all this into account, maybe the comic one seems more feral, for lack of a better world. while the movie one just seems to have more of a short temper, but all in all the two are undeniably similar.
