First thing I notice is how NONE of the voices they got sound like their movie voices (except maybe for Earl)

I saw the movie when it was out like... what, 7 years ago? and it wasn't bad, it was fairly entertaining, but why did they decide after all this time, it was finally time to make this a cartoon?

Eh, series are ok. I don't mind the art style, it reminds me of the UPA style.

Art is fine. Kind of looks like the concept art for the movies. Animation is fine. Jokes are alright. I just hate the stupid fucking "they're in school" retcon, it makes it feel painfully generic when they're in cafeteria settings and shit. The voices could also be better. A lot of them sound way higher pitched than the actual characters.

It used to make sense to make cartoons when there were only 4 TV channels. Now, viewing options have diversified, and there is a glut of shows that studios are driving down each other's prices. Movie adaptations are no longer logical unless you own the IP.
