Honestly, I don't know what to make of it. I think it feels like it was a little rushed out the gate, but I think they weren't really intending on making this, they just sort of had to, and I hope that's because their efforts are on writing gags for the film.

I didn't watch the movie because I started hating Deadpool when he became Memepool, a LONG time ago.
But I gave it a shot last week and it was actually surprisingly good. The story wasn't anything out of this world but it was well executed.
It made you care enough while avoiding the jokes from defusing the tension because the jokes are just EVERYWHERE so they're part of the movie's rythm from the get go.
It keeps throwing shit to see what sticks. Plenty of it does.
References aside it's a high energy fun action movie with a charismatic main character. Good times.

The movie boasts about not being your typical superhero movie, but displays nothing but the common superhero movie tropes. It really tries nothing new aside from shouting obscenities at you in order to earn that R rating. The aspect that hurts this movie most though is the tacked on love plot. And to make matters worse, that's Wade's primary motivation for the entire story.
