I'll admit it would be a refreshing surprise to see Jarco be "end game," but I only really want this if Jackie has some stake in the larger plot. Even if she's not a mermaid, I want to see her develop some fighting skills like Marco did in Running with Scissors and join Marco and Star on their adventures. I also want her to have goals and dreams. Marco gets to have karate episodes, so let's see some episodes about Jackie competing in a skateboarding tournament or getting a part time job at a history museum or something.

It's being made very clear that the Mewni Kingdom has a dark side. Star was horrified to learn that Mewnipendence Day was actually a horrific slaughter of innocent monsters, something that everyone else back home seemed cool with. If someone pointed out just how wrong slavery was , and why, she'd probably wind up changing her mind on that as well. Star seems to be the white sheep, so to speak, in that everyone else is willing to accept this while she rebels.

So, here's hoping the Season Three Mewni Arc does just that.

It's not really an AU. During the Halloween episode, Star and Janna summoned a ghost to help make the Diaz Haunted House actually scary. It ended up eating them, and trapping them in its' stomach. The comic has Star decided to kiss Marco while in its' stomach. In the episode itself, Marco's dad saved everyone.
