His thunderbolts is worst run I've ever seen, without duggan this book is going to crater. I know he is stretched thin being on so many books but honestly this is terrible news. They probably had to make the change because of the DP crossover event with so many of his books being involved but honestly this is a terrible replacement.

His books were smaller? Mostly niche and had a smaller fanbase. Like people talked up Skullkickers when the 4e D&D comic (which remains great) was popular but if you compared the two Skullkickers was seriously inferior. Skullkickers also got talked about in comparison with Rat Queens, but I thought Rat Queens was fucking shit so I can't really answer that one. They did seem like a similar type of book.

Then we had his anime rip-off comic, which was not very good, or his aging actress violence comic, which was (is?) also not very good. What's worse with both of these is they were tired. There was room in both of these that if you didn't put out top quality or if you didn't wow, you could still have been interesting. Zub wasn't.

What IS interesting is him coming onto New Avengers. Why? Well, Zub's probably pretty timeous. His own website has a lot of breakdown about his earnings and efforts in the industry - one thing I do really like him for is being open and honest about that kind of stuff - and I can imagine he has a really strong work ethic. But more than that his editor is a huge Buckyfag who's mad about the character: knowing that, can you look at his Thunderbolts and think he didn't please his editor? I wonder how much of that was pitch/initiative/mandate etc.

And if that's how you get more gigs at Marvel, I hope to God Jordan White is a huge Gerber fan.
