I've read this entire comic but it's been a while. Is there an exact moment for what he means about "things happened"?

I know Lucy was abusive and Sandy taught Mike that he shouldn't have to put up with that and that grew into resentment. (And that was mirrored by Lucy meeting that older guy that said Mike would start to resent her eventually if she continued being dishonest and abusive) Is that what he's talking about or is there a big moment where Lucy crossed the line and fucked up that he's referencing?
