You probably don't even know Bane had plenty of Dixon-written appearances AFTER Knightfall, in Legacy, the second and third Bane one-shots, and even the Bane of the Demon mini.

From there you can safely skip ahead to Villains United/Secret Six, which doesn't emphasize Bane's parallels to Batman often but Simone is legit one of the all-time Bane writers.

It's been a /co/ consensus for years that Secret Six was good but Bane was written very inconsistently.

Bane's never been Batman intellectual equal. Batman is a genius. Bane is just a brilliant tactician. He doesn't have a super genius iq. Only enemies like Riddler are on Batman's level.

Catwoman escaping easily offscreen and Batman being fine after a 10 page beatdown.

His other work is great because it all feels like it has actual consequences, but his Batman has none of that and it destroys the build up of Bane as a serious threat.
