Also, he's the only one in Beach City to know that the gems are responsible for weirdness. Everyone else seems to ignore their obvious strangeness (see the Pizzas dismissing them as "Circus Performers" even after seeing them defeat a gem monster). Except there's legitimately WAY less reason for that to be the case than with Homestuck.

Homestuck got oversaturated with too many characters relatively early on so the writing was shifted to accommodate this by becoming significantly shallower.

SU's writing hasn't really declined as much as people like to complain it has.
