How about this, the old ending sequence is replaced with Star casting the spying spell at the end of every episode. As the credits roll, Star sees Marco doing something different every episode. One episode he's crying about Star, then asking his dad for advice, then he's on a date with Jackie, then Star watches him sleep, etc. These are the only times in season 3 we see Marco.

So if Star is as powerful as Eclipsa and it's linked to "Monster love", does that mean there's something about Marco we don't know about?

I've seen theories of Jackie being a mermaid and Janna being a vamp or similar but nothing about Marco gives me any monster themes.

But the Blood Moon isn't something that demons can control. Tom couldn't make the Blood Moon shine on him and Star even if they had danced together. He was just HOPING that they would be the couple it shined on. But the Blood Moon is specifically described as making its own choice of which lucky couple gets bound together.

My thinking is that if Marco hadn't crashed the Blood Moon Ball, it would've been some random pair of demons who had their souls bound together. Tom and Star were never going to have that happen because their souls aren't compatible in that way.

Interesting that he's more of neutral character bound to the book and whoever is in possession of it, like Genie from Aladdin.

I really like that moment in this episode where he actually comments on Star's efforts, surpassing anything he's ever seen in all his experience with the wand's magic.

He was pretty emotionally devoid and cryptic, but in this instance, I felt it was more restrained on his part than naturally empty. The music and his comments made me hope that Glossaryck may have felt pride in Star, like father or mentor would.
