Comic writers aren't stealing from DC, they're stealing Supes, who happens to be owned by DC. I know thats a subtle difference but think of it this way, if Marvel had Superman everyone would be ripping of Marvel, don't pretend that DC wouldn't be making their own Supes-homages. It really has nothing to do with a DC-Marvel corporate mentality, the writers feel that Supes belongs to the genre.

For one, in general, start up frames for jumping is faster then normals for mk, which is the reverse of how SF does things. The effect of this results in its own unique mind game around how you are going to go about controlling space at footsie range. Also, Jumping attacks are heavy on plus in MK games, so just because you can block jumps without worrying about ambiguous crossovers doesn't mean that you don't have to worry about any sort of incoming mixup that can result from a jump. If you block a jump, an opponent is guaranteed to get off a mixup since he's on heavy plus frames, and MKX is composed with cheap unforgiving mixups.

They are reusing move ideas, but you can't get around that, there are so many fighting games, all the moves have been done.
Just look at Konlin from SFV that just came out, everything she has, someone else has done already.
