I can't really say that the majority of Starcofags are silent, because if they were, they wouldn't be true Starcofags. They'd just be fans of the show who like the Star and Marco together but don't care enough to post. In that way, every fandom has those types of people. I don't think it was even a soul binding thing, it was just shining down on the two people with the most excellent relationship. After that, it's just a visual indicator of the bond between Marco and Star; the right light is there when you or they are meant to be thinking about them.
